@@francoisdaureville323 As a professional musician and performer, with a career of 20+ years, I’m quite familiar with interpretation techniques that involve tone color changes, pitch bending, sound saturation, etc. Tone colors are noticeable, for example, when you affect the music you’re listening to through a sound equalizer, and play with different blends of highs, mids, and bass levels. The sound becomes “darker” or “brighter”. Every time a person plays an instrument proficiently or sings proficiently , a specific and personal type of overall sound is produced. According to the taste and abilities of the performer, changes in sound “color” can be achieved. Technique is basic and very, very important, but a great performer needs to go beyond that. To me, D.O’s singing displays beautiful color changes and interesting vowel choices, that allow him to better connect with his emotions and project his unique take on the music he sings.

i find it hard to justify putting jungkook and suho as subpar vocalists. I'm not saying they don't have issues, but I don't think those issues are so glaringly bad that they are subpar. Both of them have a lot of versatility to their voices and have more than enough skill in their own ways to be considered above average at least. Jungkook has good clarity and good placement in his voice and Suho has a lot of power and good emotional range. They aren't anywhere near perfect, but they are both great vocalists.

@@triplej8666 As I said, they have their problems technically, but they aren't fundamental issues, so I would put them in the average category at least. The issues they have are really just placement, their pitch is great, they both have a good understanding of dynamics, and they both understand how to fit their voices to a part.

I'm pretty sure the main basis here is how strong your vocal cords are by determining how strong the tone produced and how controlled their airflow is alongside maintaining proper technique which includes placement and all that jazz.

@@ziko8608they dont have that many issues really but they arent Developed enough to be at average tier, thats all, if you listen to any of them you arent going to hear any vocal problems in the true sense like with jimin for example, but their registers arent Developed enought to be atleast considered an average singer,
