Bb4 isnt an easy note to reach & to be as stable & well supported as Kyungsoo is quite rare. People often forget that he can really belt as his vocals is often associated to just runs. Kyungsoo's so impressive.. he's great at everything he tries his hand at, he has my favourite voice in all of kpop-so rich, soothing and full of flavour(and I know this is mostly subjective but he emotes incredibly as well- must be the actor in him lol) Many people seem to have forgotten his vocal abilities because of his acting abilities but hopefully his solo album will rectify that! Jongdae's voice is so clear emotional soulful powerful very pleasant to ears. I love his versatility .I felt goosebumps even I have watched those clips countless times . I can listen to him all day . Well apart from Kyungsoo and Gunwoo the rest is somewhat unimpressive. Baekhyun is semi-agile, Eunkwang can be slightly above average. I’m not sure who else, perhaps Seungkwan or Taeil?

Hi! I really enjoyed watching your previous videos like giving Mamamoo vocalists justice and putting Wendy on top for 3rd gen. I also like the other series and subscribed to see if you'd do a male idol version. Which I was right on~ I'm interested to see where Kang Seungyoon (Winner) would place since he got so far on King of Masked Singer or he would be included in pt.2. @@nisamie512 that means you choose to sing stylistically, for example raising your larynx, which means you cant sing relaxed with proper breath support, thus affecting your technique. D.O. from EXO is an example, where he does stylistic choices, BUT he doesnt sacrifice his technique for it, because of his stellar vocal training at SM. Jonghyun from SHINee is another example. You could call those 2 vocal atheletes, because they can do whatever they want with their voices, because they are so developed and agile (especially D.O. is the best idol at agility; meaning runs, riffs, all sorts of vocal ornaments) This all depends on your vocal training and skills, but mostly you need a good vocal coach, then you can come really far.

DK can support around F4/F#4, that is not enough for this video. Woozi isn't supporting that well, he's quite nasal. Aside from Seungkwan and DK, there's no other in Seventeen who has a good technique. Woozi and Hoshi somewhat has shallow support, Joshua seems inconsistent, and Jeonghan has no support.

I recently realized that EXO’s main vocal line is 2/3 of the beagle line and 1/4 of the quiet line. Wonder how D.O. held up during main vocal practice sessions 💀 Anyways, I wanted to ask about Chanyeol and Lay. Do either of them have at least a shallow sense of support? Lay sounds shallow for the most part and a little airy, while Chanyeol sounds ok up to E4, then he starts sounding... really scratchy for some reason.

Chanyeol is a Baritone who has a nice timbre but he uses his throat a bit too much, which is a typical trait for the majority of rappers-turn-singers. I don't think he can be considered a singer with support but maybe if we dig more into his perfs there might be instances where he could connect his breath support. I'm not sure about Lay tbh but I highly doubt so.

That's out off the topic, but I saw a comment in one Minnie's vocal analysis and I would like to know what do you think about it. "Guys, you do realize the diaphragm is a involutary muscle, you can't engage it. Breath support is engaging your oblique muscles to support your breath, and contrary to popular believe, it's VERY hard to determine wheter someone has breath support, maybe if they were prolonging a note for a long time it might be a indication. Then, you also criticze her nasal singing. Excuse but since when is nasality a negative point? Nasality can be bad if you get stuck in that placement, but used correctly it's good for lightening your mix in order to avoid demage. Another topic I'd like to adress is larynx position. Apparently raising your larynx is straining. While raising it too much will cause strain, the larynx raises naturally as you move up to your register. Same thing with the low register and lowering the larynx. Heck, singers like Pavarotti sing with a lowered larynx and they are perfectly fine. Also, maintaining a neutral larynx can cause people to pull up too much chest voice and strain if you try to not raise it while going up your registered. Finally, a lot of people seem to use the term "resonance" to describe the "amplification of sound by lifiting your soft palette". Excuse me but that's not what resonance is AT ALL. That definition better aligns with the definition of squillo, which is only used dor classical singing ( and you can still be nasal and use the squillo perfectly ), and it should not be something taken into account when ranking contemporary singers who already use a microfone"
