I'm going to turn a TA trigger into a FRT type trigger by using the birds beak and safety plunger coupled with a spring.

I wasted a lot of money on an alpha trigger. Every other round was a light primer strike, resulting in failure to fire. Wasted time and money. I still can't believe that Timney would sell some crap like that.

The timmney glock trigger I installed in my competition 34 is simply amazing! I am really interested in finding out if timmney will make the other parts available as a kit for those of us that already have the trigger. Timmney is also a great company to deal with, customer service I experienced was absolutely top shelf. Just checked the website, and they do offer just the parts kits, ill be placing my order!

I am concerned. The locking block pin came into being when the Glocks were tested at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the U.S. Border Patrol. The Glock 22 and 23 test weapons (3 of each model) catastrophically failed between 6,000 and 8,000 rounds of the 10,350 reliability / durability tests at Aberdeen. Subsequently Glock added the locking block pin and, as far as I know, that cured the problem. Glock, for reasons unknown didn't submit the modified Gl22's and 23's for our best and final offer tests. (Note: The tests at Aberdeen were conducted in 1993, 1994, and 1995.) When I saw that the Gen 5's did not have locking block pins I wasn't concerned because the non-locking pin series had successfully fired many thousands of rounds, far surpassing 10,000 rounds, but when I saw the Gen 5's being chambered for more intense cartridges I became concerned.

What does Glock have to do with a Ruger American video? Not a damn thing. Apples to oranges. Every comment on this video is about a Glock. Go comment on a Glock video if you've got an axe to grind.

When the hammer is forward, should the safety be able to engage up? My safety clears when the hammer is down, but when the hammer is forward, i cannot engage the safety. Is that normal?

I suggest to my customers to use an Apex trigger on the Gen 3 Glocks because everyone of them who has tried to install one of these themselves has discovered they are not really "drop in parts".,, then they bring it to me to fix.

That small screw that locks the original trigger pin in place is so small that none of the hex keys in my garage would fit it. Despite the cost of the trigger a lousy hex key isn't included. Nor do they tell what size you need to buy in the instructions. You do get some weird God poem by Lauretta P Burns though. This atheist would rather have had the hex key. I ditched the unnecessary second safety mechanism thus avoiding the extra mutilation of the stock required to accomodate it. Hopefully the pin will be kept in place by the wood as per Mosin's intentions as I couldn't tighten the screw with the non-existant hex key. Tip use a Dremel to rough out but finish off with a good sharp wood chisel for a neater job. I masked off the external wood and painted the inside of the cut areas with Ronseal Wood Hardener to seal the grain from any oil that might get in there and rot it. Also gives the fibres a bit of extra strength after all the butchery it's endured.

Thank you for the video. There is one thing I would mention to help anyone having a problem placing the safety through the trigger. If you find that no matter how many times you twist, turn and push the safety to get it through, take the small hex wrench and loosen the chisel tip (hex nut is on top of the trigger) to allow the safety through and line up and adjust accordingly.
