Good to know!! My 2003 Camry had the auto lock and it was horrible. I was constantly getting locked out. Once I got out to grab something from the trunk and it locked my baby inside on a hot day. I had to call the fire dept to get it open fast! Thankfully they don’t make that stupid auto lock anymore!

So what if I do t get a charge I have checked cables after cables. And all the cables I have tried worked in my other car perfect I bought cables that said it’s just for CarPlay/android auto

It has to do with the energy saving function from Android. You need to enter In Settings/Device care/Battery/Background usage limits and place Androind Auto in "Never auto sleeping apps". Also, Settings/Apps/Androind Auto/Battery/ check Unrestricted. In this way, AA will be able to communicate with the car

2022 Corolla. Stuck in snow. Left driver's door open. Placed in Drive / Reverse repeatedly in an attempt to rock vehicle. E Brake engaged. Message on dash. Released with E Brake button. Closed door and worked fine. Note to self: Can't place vehicle in neutral and push by yourself with the driver's door open.

Hi, Steve Thanks for the lesson on the Toyota Start/Stop breaking/ fuel saving feature. I have '21 Highlander with this feature. I recently had to replace the vehicle battery which was at 47.5 months on a 36 month OEM battery. The orig. battery died completely on the spot with no warning signs. Good news is I was across the street from a NAPA Auto Part Store so they had a 36 month NAPA AAA battery that fit my Highlander so I bought it and car has been fine. Three weeks later , this morning, I took the Highlander into the Toyota dealer for a recall related to defective bumper retention panel and they replaced some clips. They told me that my less than 3 week old NAPA replacement battery was bad and will probably die an early death? Hmmm! They said that my Highlander with Start/Stop technology requires their "Toyota Smart Start battery with a "special smart chip." Hmmm. I found some info on line that indicates that as long as the replacement battery is rated for the proper number of CCA(cold-crank amps) and is either an AGM or ECM technology battery, that it will work properly with any car that has Stop/Start feature? Can you tell me who is correct?

Thanks. I wish I would have seen this before spending hours trying to figure it out. Toyota really needs to update this system. Separate Profiles, and each Profile with their own personal Toyota app linked to one car. I might just delete the app and primary profile and use Bluetooth only.

A few questions after installation, I have a2019 limited hybrid. 1) Does it effect the rain sensor or any of the other safety features such as; 2) Lane departure alert, cruse control, auto braking system, integrated garage door openers in rearview mirror or rearview camera that's integrated into the backup camera, or any other safety features like; lane tracking, lane departure, blind spot monitor 3) Auto dimming rear view mirror, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, integrated back-up camera. Advanced driver assist and adaptive cruse control. 4) Will this unit void manufacturer warranty.

I'll answer as best I can: 1. It has no impact on the rain sensor. 2. It does not affect the other safety sensors or any mirror features. It uses a wiring harness that uses the ower going to the mirror for its power but does not tap into anything but the 12 volt power supply. 3. See #2 4. I can't answer that. It shouldn't, however, if you ever had a problem with one of those systams and the dealer determined that the cause was this camera, they could deny the claim. Because this is a plug and play system that is so easy to install, one could easily remove it if that was a concern.

I successfully jumped a gas vehicle with my Rav4 Prime using the battery in the back. Everything still works.

@@perrytowle glad it still works. Don’t press your luck though. The cranking amps on your 12 volt battery isn’t nearly enough to reliably turn the starter on most cars and you may have shortened the life of that battery already.

@@black_number_one I appreciate the compliments! I had not heard scout the gas mileage thing but I guess it is possible. It hits the brakes more than I otherwise would so that means there is more wasted energy but I doubt it does very much
