So I understand, Boker makes it, sends it to Daily Customs, they send it to Alex Kremer to regrind it into a tanto, he sends it back to Daily Customs, then it goes to the buyer. Even at €195 I wonder if they're making any money. Anyway, it's a stunning design and it would look even nicer if they polished the beveled parts so you could see the details there better. Looking at photos on their web site, it looks like Alex is doing very nice work, but it's hard to see in stonewashed finish. On custom leather: do you sell any? I have a few fixed tantos that I could use a better sheath for.

Ya it's a small company that just blew up in the EDC scene. I do leather work for others from time to time, but I just haven't had much time lately. I can't even make stuff for myself right now 🤣

I overpaid for my Zaan but it was brand new and I was impatient. Also I'm a lefty so I figured I'd better snag it up when I saw it. I don't regret it. If I had to sell my entire collection except for one, the Umnumzaan would be that one.

Sorry, but spending that much money on the tool shown in the video is in my opinion really throwing money away. I much rather buy regular (universal) tools from a top brand like PB Swiss Tools. On the pivot, on the lock side, fits a Bit Spanner number 12.

I own both the Tanto Lite & the Kobun however I carry the Kobun around the yard with me as my general purpose blade which gets used & abused for everything. The reason is the size of the Tanto Lite, the Kobun is slightly smaller & can fit in my pants pocket with enough handle hanging out to grab it without difficulty yet not so much that it gets in the way.
@danielpresson72632 ай бұрын
How could you horizontal carry rhis?
@mitondo61232 ай бұрын
Shrink it down and you have the Kyoto.
@EDCTantoKnives2 ай бұрын
not really, the Kyoto is thick and bulky. If they shrink the lite down evenly, it will be thin sleek form that will carry nicely
@joshcarter-com2 ай бұрын
This model puzzles me because the Kobun is about the same specs and price. Any thoughts on one vs. the other? I picked up the Kobun recently and it would make an excellent compact outdoors knife. It’s still too big for EDC, however-just like you’re saying about the Tanto Lite. 🤷
@EDCTantoKnives2 ай бұрын
The lite is bigger and slightly different style. The Kobun should be smaller than it is, since it's geared as a boot knife for the CIA 🤣

Just bought the LITE from Midway USA for 39.99 (Tanto blade), with tax and shipping $49.78. For that price I don't have a problem with the handle being Glass Reinforced Nylon (GRN).

Cold Steel Mini-Tac Tanto is very similar. The sheath on this one looks better, however-the Mini-Tac doesn’t come with a clip (need to buy separately) and their “SecureEx” just isn’t as good as Kydex. My main worry with the weird Amazon brands is the mystery steels they’re made from. This one says it’s D2 but who knows? I picked up the Mini-Tac in an effort to start EDC’ing a fixed blade, but I’m still reaching for a folder every time I leave the house-usually the CS Code 4 or SOG Aegis tanto at the moment.

Wish they made one of these in a thinner stock. I dont personally believe a non chopper knife should be thicker than 1/8th of an inch thick. There's just no need for it. Im not generally cutting steel pots and pans. I like knives to cut and pry bars to pry. That design is awesome otherwise
