“the Siberian tiger found in part of Russia far east and part of northeast china..”? That’s Korea for those who are geographically obtuse.😑

Great video by the way what is the closest living relative of the Zanzíbar leopard?

That’s hard to say. I don’t believe there’s any genetic data left from a Zanzibar Leopard to compare it with modern leopards in Africa. Even within Africa, leopards vary a lot with regard to size, coat color, habitat, etc. So it will be very difficult to find a modern relative for the Zanzibar Leopard, unless someone finds a live specimen 🙂

There are other examples of Land mammals reaching remote Islands by themselves. The polar Fox on Iceland, Reindeer on Svalbard / wolves and Musk ox on Greenland. They crossed the sea using ice in colder times like ice ages. Smaller mammals are less mobile, therefore they could not cross. It is unlikely for people in Canoes to get to the Falklands without modern Navigation.

Seems Bengals are the largest cats now. Siberian tigers and African lions are about the same.

Sad news big cats fans. Modern measurements showed that Siberian Tigers and Lions are much smaller than they used to be. They barely average 415lbs now... Only Bengal Tigers from certain regions are able to consistently exceed 500lbs. I blame this on poaching, trophy hunting, and Chinese "medicine".

It can happen to your pet dog or cat. If she is not spayed or have a litter of young, she can develop a condition known as Pyrometra and may die from it.

I've seen a family of 6 riding one in India, whereas traffic laws here in the states only permits 2 and it must have proper turn signals. Press the left or right ear and the tail goes "flick flick flick to signal a turn before 50 meters says the DOL. 😹💯

Population of Leopards in India declined from the last part of the 18th century to the mid part of the 19th century due to the mass wantonly killing of the species by the Europeans along with their families, deployed in India in the name of game hunting for collecting trophies. It mostly occurred in the southern part of the Indian peninsula. Later on the Maharaja of Mysore started his own forest sanctuary where poaching and even carrying of firearms inside the sanctuary was strictly prohibited. Just before independence the British started marking out areas for conservation and preservation of the flora and fauna starting with a reserve in the foothills of the Himalaya which later on became the Jim Corbett national park & tiger reserve after the famous conservationist. It all started with the slaying of maneaters and killers and ended in conservation of the same.

Barbary Lion is alive in many countries around the world where they are kept in the Zoo. They is a conservative effort to increase their population. But yea 100% pure breed in the Morocco zoo.

The Amur Tiger is extrant and has been seen in the areas north of the Caspian "sea." Many experts believe it to be the same as the Caspian. The wildlife experts were doing genetic tests but I am not up to date with findings.
