I am curious on your thoughts about Americans creating communities in other countries (I’ve heard of them in Ghana, Nigeria, South Korea, etc.) similar to how immigrants in the U.S. have done with Little Havana here in FL, Arabs in Dearborn (Michigan), New York and so forth. Also, in other European and Asian countries our African cousins and other groups of color have created communities as well. You mentioned not going and being “American”. It's quite possible that the culture of America can cause subcultures of America to not like being here. ie. cost of living as she pointed out. When consumers couldn't go to the businesses, the businesses had to be creative and figure out how to reach the consumers. Most who didn't pivot are no longer here. But when businesses go out of their way to tell you you're not welcomed, consumers also must pivot to make their voices be heard and not voluntarily support those same businesses. I see this as the same as the lunch counter protests. We couldn't sit with them to consume but they welcomed our dollar nonetheless. We took a stand and it made a difference.
