The shelf fungi, also called bracket fungi, love what you did with them. I recently wanted some for a monster I was building for Turnip28. I used hot glue poured into a fidget popper, like the one you are using for a paint pallette. Popped them out, cut them in half, glued them in place, then primed and painted them. They look OK. But yours look better. Not sure I could have added the pine cone bits to the surface of my build though. But I'm saving this idea for later.

Makes me think of an Underdark mushroom farm, tended by s l a v e workers overseen by Duergar guards. You could have axe and crosscut saw teams and felled "timber," along with new mushroom boles growing from old stumps. You could also do small fungus patches *a la* the fungus farm in Blackreach in Skyrim, easy scatter terrain. =^[.]^=

Really cool! I feel that you have a lot of stuff like that in the US, I live in Spain and although there are few conventions, you don't usually see all that fancy stuff and are usually boardgame based (which I love but it's not what I'm looking for).

Damn all the Ral Partha stuff from Iron Wind would have depleted my funds. I know where those tentacles were from. I had that mini at one point. It was a giant squid made as a kraken and it came with a woman tied to a post as a sacrifice to it. I still have the woman. But lost the rest.

I also only see a handful of friends once a year. Now that I'm getting older, some of them are just not there anymore. Rather sad. On a different note, I can't imagine you drive too far for this (I have driven to Ohio and Georgia for Nerf wars). What is your starting point? Sounds like you were starting sum ware in Pennsylvania. I live North Central PA.

I don't go to many conventions in my country due to time and financial reasons, but I do attend Pyrkon each year (which is the biggest fantasy convention in Poland, one of the biggest in Europe) and a small-ish fantasy con in my home town. I'm not a social person by any means, kind of an introvert - but still I've met wonderful people every year. Actually, the first Pyrkon I went to in cosplay, we took some pictures with a cosplayer from the same series and then he asked if he can hang out with us a bit, as his group kinda scattered about. I learned he plays a lot of fighter games, which I'm a huge fan of, we try to meet every year ever since, even exchanged some gaming gear. And that's just one case. What I'm saying is, conventions are great places to meet cool people, make friends, even if one's considering themselves anti-social (like I kinda did). Nearly all attendees are really cool, open-minded and considerate people, and mostly share the same goals going there, and hobbies, which makes it even easier to find common topics and shared interests.
