0:55 IT'S FUNNY THAT TRACY WOULD SAY THAT BC I SHOWED THE PAINTING TO 2 WOMEN I KNOW AND THEY IMMEDIATELY JOKED (BOTH OF THEM NO MY RULE NO FUR NO LOVE I WANT A HAIRY MUFF) "I BET HE WANTED TO BURY HIS FACE UP IN THERE" IN REFERENCE TO ME AND HEARING TRACY EMIN SAY IT KNOWING YOU WERE THINKING EXACTLY THE SAME THOUGHT I WANTED EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID WE STILL LAUGH ABOUT IT 🤣

I don't know much about the artist. But he seems quite awkward when the interviewer is asking him about his work like he doesn't want to explain it. He seems a strange character.

Your familiarity with performance of Gregorian music seems to have instilled an incredible sense of pitch and tuning (temperament) in the choir. And you must also use an amazing acoustic, I think, for some of your recordings (tho not always in these excerpts.)

You can imagine men burying their heads there? Considering all the statues and paintings of naked dudes that came before - unless I know where these men are from, I’m finding that difficult to believe.

Sooo South America , or Africa , idk either way it looks like the jungle in the picture . And that lady talking gave me weird vibes like she’s the kind of person who talks to herself .

This is one of the top 10 paintings of all time imo. It is the summit of eroticism in art, executed with brilliance and exhilarating with sensuality. The female body is such a graceful form, and Courbet captured its energy perfectly.

I am a great believer that artist's should talk about other artists. Curators have a purpose but not to describe art.

The sadness of this conversation is the flattening of the depth of Doris Salcedo's work by the fearmongering questions made by the interlocutor. Tiresome to hear again and again his questions mostly revolving around the sensationalism of the "violence in Colombia", like a perpetual echo of yellow journalism.

He's like eating with utmost delight the kind of sophisticated and cruel dish a soup of the most fashionable doxa made of provocative nonsense. Complete lack of listening and doing the appropriate back and forth with the artist. While drinking Coca-cola brand in a wine glass LOL what an absolute psycho.

I've watched several interviews given by Hans-Ulrich Obrist by now..He has the most annoying habit of sorting out papers and writing , .while the guest is speaking. This is most distracting and inconsiderate. If I were being interviewed I would be frustrated at his inability to just be there and listen with a modicum of respect.

Hans - Dieter Mobertz

The “Origin of the world” brings out the juvenile in some people, the perversion in others, but it is bona fide art and maturely expresses who we are as a species.
