@@cherylshannon-vp7uc That’s probably a good way to go. Cutting them all in quarters would have just taken more time and I wanted to be able to roll them. get a bobcat splitter take 30 sec to make 4 pieces then split with ur machine much faster and less work save ur back

That is a big round! Remember the machine will also split it bark to bark, so you don't have to stand those huge pieces up and risk them falling back on you.

@@DanielAtkinsFirewood there is definitely a sweet spot for efficiency. Big is good but maybe not this big. The best is when I have perfect size rounds for a single pass through the six way wedge. Then I can really pump up production. Thanks for watching and commenting.

i always love big trees.. I get alot of wood from tree services so 3 to 5 ft diameter logs are great. i get alot of big ash, soft and hard maple and alot of big oaks. keep on splitting!!!

@@adirondackwoodsman Those are nice units. I was on the fence between Eastonmade and Wolferidge when I was shopping for mine. But Wolferidge answered the phone when I called and Eastonmade took a couple of weeks to get back to me, so that kind of made up my mind. But their machines look to be top notch. It definitely makes splitting wood more fun with a nice machine, whichever of the high quality brands that you pick. 👍🏻

Them are some big ol rounds. You would benefit from building yourself a hoist / winch that you could attach to that trailer. Not hard to build with a boat winch and you'd be able to gather them rounds up hill and right into the trailer. I have vid on my chanel of one I built years ago, thing is handy AF.

@@BigWoodMountain Just looking at your trailer you could simply weld another D ring right above the other D ring at the top of the trailer then slide a tube down into both D rings and theres the mount for your hoist. Simple , lightweight strong and effective.

Hello Mike, nice work and realy nice firewood. I have Stihl MS 362 in my own too , but with shorter bar, its good frend for firewood making.. I am doing firewood more or less 30 years about 30m3 for year and its always perfect feeling to do that work. Timber here is 80% spruce and pine and now we have barkbeatle everywhere , but sometimes I picked ash tree, oak or birch too. So be carefull, thank you for video and have a lot of good times .
