Nice visual Ray! 172 Is another one of those routes that was kinda ruined by cuts as it use to go to St Pauls, it was better when it went to Clerkenwell Green then it was cut back to aldwych making it a bit short. Still a good route though. It is similar to 171, just that 171 goes through peckham and 172 through bricklayer's arms. Although both routes were ruined by cuts
