Linda, the paper pattern that I printed out from the website says something about moving it from the two pegs to a different type of loom. Do you have a video showing how to do that?

I made the cords from 5/2 perle cotton, 4 strands per ply, with 20% shrinkage during initial overtwist.

Amazing. I was going to do this as a side selvage hem while I weave on each side in plain tabby and the main weave will be twill. The beginning will be plain tabby for 2" and the end will also be plain tabby for 2" all the way across. Im going to give it a go next week. I like this idea of a patterned stripe in the center or offset but center looks great. Fancy stuff. :)

Can you find 4 pli cord already made like macrame cord or do textile companys have one
@lindahendrickson4 ай бұрын
The only commercially-made cords made for ply-split braiding that I'm aware of are from this website in Japan: ginakoubou.ocnk.net/ Any plied cords that can be split can be used for ply-splitting. Macrame cord would work, but the twist is very low compared to cords made for ply-splitting, so the results would be quite soft. Danish cord works well for ply-split baskets, and is readily available from basketry supply shops and online.

This was wonderful, thank you. Linda, I'm a big fan of your weavings and teachings, knowing this about you feeds my soul even more. I've been vegan for over 30 years, because i had a profound awakening about the abuses from factory farming, before most of us even knew it existed. The chickens knew, and got through to me one night in oct 1986 (good story, love to tell it), so i learned about nutrition and became vegan (before the word vegan was in common circulation) jan 1st 1987. And then the miracles began. My body began correctly functioning for the first time in my remembered life. What an amazing experience! So many joyful stories. Becoming vegan has been truly one of the most joyful and fun experiences in my life. I highly recommend it! :-) Thanks again to both of you. Peace for ALL life.

Perfect timing for me, Linda, and not just because of this presentation that weaves together so many truths about our climate crisis but because I’m going to be producing some cords today for a ply-spilt project! The huge problem we have in this country is that our government is controlled by the mining oligarchs (no laws are made without their say so) plus our media is totally controlled by the egregious Murdoch. An additional issue is that the average Australian voter feels quite comfortable and can see no reason why we should bother about climate. In 50 years’ time there will be parts of the world that have become uninhabitable and there will be climate refugees in their millions. The Sixth Extinction will be showing its deadly force. My own work with refugees will be as nothing in comparison with the problems then, yet people say to me ‘Oh I’ll be dead so I don’t need to worry about that.’ Our grandchildren will curse us for our selfishness and complacency. Thank you for shining a light on the truth for our world. I
