Please use a plastic scraper, like the one bakers use. It will really make it easier to push the silicone in the piping bag and cleaner too.

What kind of air dry clay do you use?
@AlexaJuncajArtАй бұрын
@@kryshnamoonrose9374 I was using Crayola model magic for a while but it cracks a lot as it dries so I switch to Hobby Lobby brand air dry foam clay and it cracks WAY less and is WAY cheaper 👍🏼❤️
@AlexaJuncajArtАй бұрын
Also! I use "Patch n Paint" to seal the cracks that do happen. It dries quick, can be sanded, and I paint over it easily
@kryshnamoonrose9374Ай бұрын
Ok. So foam clay? I was doing my office in like a mix of pastel goth and sweets until we had a flood. So I’m hoping when we can get the mold out of the room so it’s usable again I can make some large candy pieces for it lol I have the crayola air dry earth clay but I figured that probably wasn’t a good idea lol

Love how they came out. Did you put anything on the back so they can be hung up on the wall? And if so how and what did you use ?
@AlexaJuncajArt29 күн бұрын
@@appplejack2650 Thank you!! Yes! I usually smooth a bit of resin to cover the edges of the bottom (about an inch border around) and I nail and superglue hanging hardware to it (glueing the hardware to just the clay isn't very durable) Maybe next video should be a tutorial? 🤔

I absolutely love your videos! So helpful and your results are always amazing. I tried this technique and it smelled so heavily of apple cigar vinegar. Do you get the same thing?? About how long does it take for that smell to go away?? Mine still smell like ACV but then again it's only been one day lol.

How to store the silicone after use that are in still in the piping bags?

"tell me how it says GE, it doesn't" hehehehe... it does :-) the 2 letters are written in cursive with a decorative font ;-)
@Vitrianna3 ай бұрын
I have several questions.. What kind of silicone do you use? I live outside the US, and the brand GE is quite expensive for my budget, and it only has a small size, and to the place where I live, there are lots of different types of silicones... Like silicone sealant acid, neutral... And I found there is also an acetic cure, biocide and neutral cure. Acetoxy, mold and neutral. There is silicone for glass. I also want to know how they dried up? What's the texture? I only know the clay based glue and not the silicone ones. Please enlighten me. Edit: oh... The silicone ones have glossy finish.

Someone else said to never use acrylics for silicone and to use oil paint? Is this true?
@angela-ok8gv3 ай бұрын
yes!!! acrylic is water based and will seize the silicone, making it super hard to work with and cure in the bag. oil paints or mica pigments are best

I tried with these decoden amazon kits and after it dried the charms started falling, and cracking. Horrible experience. I'm relieved to learn I was not the problem 😂 haha
@AlexaJuncajArt7 ай бұрын
Oh no.... it does dry pretty stiff and I could see charms falling off if they weren't "buried" in the whip deep enough. It's def not that easy to work with other than the easy setup and how it's made for you . I still liked the look of it tho for a change of pace
