okay so, the outside shows the facade is fading, not everything is as perfect as it was at first. inside the third house, you're greeted by aika with the axe in front of her, instead of behind her. this symbolizes that shes no longer hiding what she did. she's no longer hiding the axe behind her, but its in front of her, recognizing and acknowledging what she did was bad, and shes angry at her mother for it, since her mother pressured her to do it in the first place. on the left side of the book maze, there's a picture of her mother and herself, with an item in front of it. i think its an hourglass, which would mean that time is ticking for her mother. if its not an hourglass, then I don't know what it is and thus, how it ties into the story. either way, on the other side of the room, there's a picture of her with both her parents, which could mean that, for her father, shes playing pretend with her mom, pretending everything is perfect and nothing is wrong, and no plan is going on. the next room I have genuinely no clue, perhaps there's some cultural thing I'm missing that the eggs could symbolize, but no idea. then the one after that, there's diaries and scattered paper. this could be aika venting about how guilty and terrible she feels for k//lling the dog, and also her creating the plan to m//rder her mother also, as revenge for what she pressured aika to do. aika would not become innocent or pure anymore after all, so it did not matter she k//lls someone else also. she is already a m//rderer regardless. the room upstairs shows aika's mother on all the furniture. this means that her mother is could indicate that her mother is everywhere, constantly present. shes strict and closely monitoring aika, to the point that she dictates everything and her whole world is just her mother. can also be that the plan/urge to k//ll her mother is also consuming her completely. or a combination of both of those things. the room downstairs is her mother's room, the outline on the bed, the place where aika m//rdered her mother, the outline of where the body was. "this fun dream is soon ending" indicates her suic;dal urges. the room upstairs in the last house, the paintings are in chronological order. the first one, closest to aika, is the dog, crossed off, because she k//lled the dog first. then next, the painting of the mom is also scratched out, insinuating the m//rder scene in the last house was indeed her mom. and lastly, she scratched herself out, because she k//lls herself also. suic;de. the axe in front of her, is her acknowledging what she has done. lastly, the shoes. aika committed suic;de, since, as said, in japan it is common courtesy to take off the shoes before committing, so one does not take their dirt into the afterlife. the fact that they're at the beach, means she drowned herself. perhaps this also symbolizes aika drowning in guilt. it was a complex story to piece together, and there are some plotholes, but this is my theory on the story! i hope I explained everything well enough to understand :P
