Loved this as a little girl in the 70’s on our Disney record 33 LP! I’m so glad I found it here. My sister and I have great memories together every Christmas. ❤❤

Oh dear, "She's Like the Swallow" is missing!
@KirstenPacifica3 ай бұрын
Dear Chuck Levere, Please post a companion video with the missing song! The version by D. Hogan on this album, so deep voiced and a capella, is very moving. I used to sing along as a child. Maybe because it was the first version I ever heard, but the soprano versions I have heard since do not have the depth and frankly can't hold a candle to this version.

The pitch is just right, but why did this mysterious chorus only sing 2 verses? This has to be the shortest track ever.

Thanks for posting. Fond childhood memories. I remember playing this album on the old victrola at 16 rpm which made the voices normal but the music extremely slow and low😂.

Every song on here except "The Chipmunk Song" is just a sped up song from another budget Design Christmas record. Several are from the Dennis Day record "Christmas is for the Family" and it's reprints. You have to love how cheesy old budget drug store records were. If you have an old Design Christmas LP just play it on 45 and you'll have the "Happy Crickets"

I just came from my brother in laws house and he was playing a crickets Chrismas album, I thought it was the Chipmonks but the album was yellow. I'd never heard that album on the radio here in San Antonio Tx. He is from Oxnard California. Maybe it was a regional hit in that state. Pretty creepy sounding, but strangely familiar

We had this album when I was a kid in the 70's. Even had this cover (there is another version with a different cover). My favorite Christmas album! Hearing it instantly takes me back to being a very young kid. I accidentally broke the original album (but I still have it). One day, YEARS after I broke that album, I found a copy at a garage sale. I bought it instantly. Always played the Chipmunk Song at 45rpm so it sounded more like the Crickets instead of Chipmunks.
