Those vacuums are EVERYTHING. You can put her hair in a bowl and put it in the yard or on a wall for the birds to use for nesting. They love it❤

Mine protected me at 6 months old from a charging full-grown mastiff adult dog. She got between me and that dog and was ready for it. I didn't teach her any of that. Wow....keep up your awesome work .

Hello GSM(Charles)..Just found this channel,well said information..I have 2 Rottweilers,1 Pitbull and rescued a GSD last July(2023),she was 8 months old had a very sad start in life by being starved,abused and no training at all,I have been raising and training dogs all my life(grew up with a GSDogs and other breeds)..I named her Mary as she was doing HAIL MARY'S as I took her from this ugly situation she was living..Mary now is 19 months old socialized,trained even with hand signals,protective in the right way,Mary found her place in the pack as well,she is so smart and now is the happiest,gentle,sweet GSD girl ever🐾...COME see her at our channel(new subscriber❤)

I'm in the UK. WHY do you call dogs "puppies"? The UK kennel club call a 6 month dog a puppy, then junior, then adult. From your description of your dog, some trainers would call her afraid. Mine is over friendly, she has been persieved as agressive. She dosn't bark at anyone, but she does invade thier space. It wouldn't be a problem if she were a Lab.

Hey Charles, I really need to work on that with my German Shepherd... Harley. Slowly, she is getting better. She really gets leash reactive when people get near our house or certain vehicles go by. Once, when I was taking her out for her last potty break at night, we came around my car and met two coyotes. I don't know if it somewhat stems from that or what...just not sure. This is exactly what our rescue chief needs he is super protective to the point he panics if we go outside without him and it gives my wife anxiety because she can’t control him he’s too powerful for her lucky for me I’m built like shreck and can easily wrangle this fur missile when he decides to test the tensile strength of our leash

I have one of your gorgeous pups and she is a masterpiece in representing the breed. The puppy training course was crucial for that. I had a couple specific things to teach on top of it, but it's necessary for any direction you want to take your dog and teaches you how to fine tune training for your specific needs.

So I have a strange issue with my hsd...she's our first gsd. When she was a pup she was tough like to bite and chase. The. Became veryyyyyy fearful wouldn't go for walks etc. She is not food driven not toy driven or even praise driven. She's more like a cat is just on her own. She has become scared of everything. As she got bigger she would Growl at times but then reverted again. I did obedience training with her but really only works when no distraction or has a ecollar on. She is still fearful hates loud noises etc etc buttttt the issue is we have an older lab. And the gsd as scared as she is at time will bite the labs top of head, snout and neck and hold her. Once she flips can't get her to stop. So we r very confused with her and feel bad for our older lab. Please sir any advice!!!

Hey Charles can you advise me on how you would handle puppy potty training regarding in the early morning hours such as 1:00 or 2:00 am for example. Would you still play with them that early in the morning to show the reward of going potty or do we need to set the mark that it is still bedtime and put the puppy back in his crate? If I’m getting a female that I’m gonna train in protection work I have 2 young kids and we had break ins, will I be at a less disadvantage if I were to have a burglary with the female or even someone attempting to steal car? Both those reasons is why we are getting a working like German Sheppard

My dog is velcro, and protective. But once I introduce her to someone she's fine. Been like that since she was a puppy. She acts dominant around other dogs, until they let her know to back off, then she plays like crazy. When it comes to loud noises, cars, fireworks, thunderstorms she couldn't care less. I had cancer when I got her, then Covid hit, so she hasn't been socialized well. BUT, when Mama says No, she stops and listens immediately.

Well said. And some GSD owners think think their GSD is protective when in fact it is resource guarding them coz they coddled the dog (think fur baby) from puppyhood onwards and now the poor thing is mentally messed up. I deal a lot with that.

GSM is 110% correct. Most dogs that we've come across that have issues is because of lack of socialization. That and no or little correction by their owners. Did those dog owners not teach or discipline their children? True some did not but some did. It's the same principle folks

My sister adopted a 4 year old West German show line GSD from Germany. He’s pink sheeted, schitzund level three, scent trained, over all medium drive compared to a true working line, with an off switch, 100 lbs, absolutely healthy and beautiful to look at, he’s totally bomb proof, and very even tempered. I’m not a pet person, but I love that dog. Even I can show him something, how to do it, practice it once, and then he’s got it down.

My heavens what a beautiful looking black GSD. I’ve warmed so much to that colour just love that deep black with those dog eyes coming through. Yes, I like the way to talk “there can be some real confrontation” I mean you sold that. I find myself talking like that too - it’s funny.
