Just found this. Have a nearly 2 1/2 yo GSD I rescued. Nice to see someone who understands the breed. I come from over 25 yrs of Rotties. Gotta say there are some similarities, but definitely some differences too.

Can you explain what have you noticed that is significantly different in your opinion?

@ she’s a GSD mix, her DNA test says 45% GSD, then ACD, Border Collie, Rott, Boxer, Lab and Springer with a smidge of Pit😂😂. She was a rescue, got her at 10 months, and so she missed out on that very important early socialization. Some of what I notice may be because of that. One of my Rotts was a rescue from a puppy mill at 6 wks, the other two were from a Preservation breeder. And I was around many friends who had Rotts. My GSDx has way more energy than the Rotts did. She has a high gear that rivals a greyhound when she kicks it in. She is more nervous than the Rotts. Which could be her lack of exposure as a pup. While my Rotts loved to train, she takes it to the next level!! She will happily train for 30-45 min or more. And I have found when training her, she seems to expect more precision in my technique, where my Rotts were more easy going. For example, if I mess up my footwork, she will then make a mistake in her heeling. It’s actually made me become a better trainer. She also is not as quick to bark at people walking by. We had contractors in our neighborhood off and on all summer working on the community irrigation system. The main control is in my back yard. She sat and watched them for hours. My Rotts would have been way more vocal with the comings and goings. But like my Rotts, she adores children. From an infant in a stroller to a 10-12 yo.

@ thanks for sharing the info. Watching could be from Border genes :) pure working line GSDs are usually more vocal. Sounds like you have a good dog :) 🐕

The kids love seeing our dogs father. It's really cool to see subtle mannerisms that are clearly hereditary lol.

Could you do a video about dog reactivity? Our GSD loves everyone, but she turns into the Terminator when she sees other dogs

@@germanshepherdmanofficialc7598 Although, I did try this when our GSD was in the room with our cat and acting nervous, and it helped!

THANK YOU LORD FOR THIS VIDEO. Our 2 year old black german shepherd LOSES HIS MARBLES when company comes over. He's not being mean but he's overly excited because we taught him that we immediately take him outside to play with frisbees to get some of his energy out so he rushes people barking and trying to grab their hands to take him outback. He's 105lbs and it's extremely scary for them... we know he's just a goofball tho. Can't wait to watch this.

My GSD 5yr old ( we have had her since she was 9 wks old.) female will not let anyone in the house with the exception of my daughter and son in law. Anyone else she goes into protective aggression mode. We have to kennel her the entire time we have family or other guests in our home. Her kennel is in our familyroom, we cover it with a blanket and she lays down and is quiet the whole time people are over. One time we had her out on a leash with us when guests were visiting and she tried to bite a friend. Any suggesstions? We are at a loss.

I know most people disagree, but I really don't mind having a dog like that. She's behaving well in her crate when people come over. Just make sure she doesn't have access to visitors, and pity the fool who ever breaks into your house.

How do I stop my gsd puppy from eating her own poops
@germanshepherdmanofficialc7598Күн бұрын
Madison here... One of my personal dogs did this and the only thing that has worked is I have to watch her every time she goes out and if she poops, pick it up right after. There is a ton of different supplements for this but in my experience they do not work. Another thing to look out for is making sure she is getting the proper nutrition. Some dogs eat poop to get the nutrients they pooped out if they are not eating enough. Hope this helps...
