A lot of cleansing ?? Must have been that flood that everyone forgot and swept under the carpet ?? Something stinks about History.

Fantastic ! It is, however, sad to see what the 1980's and 90's neoliberals trashed in their pursuit of greed.

1:05 Those three storey terrace houses at Grange are still there in 2025. More likely that the photo was taken from the jetty rather than from the water as the text says.

I wonder why Johore, Penang, Perak, etc are considered Singapore? Even in the times past, these places were NEVER part of Singapore.

"Europeans think 100 miles is a long way, Americans think 100 years is a long time" As an American I never gave that part of the world, Australia and NZ, much thought but I imagine the above quote is way more true over there than even here in America.

My wife is a Filipina, and enjoyed watching old photos of her homeland. Couldn’t you have slowed down the slide show. Really annoying having to pause on every photo. Way too fast!

for men it's called a tropical white suit, worn in the tropical places as everyday wear noon kasi hindi mainit sa katawan. but for women, the reason is just that photos are black and white. Women's clothes were typically more colorful.

The picture at 4:10 which shows Birks, is not in King William Street. It is Rundle Street. The Birks building was on the northern side of Rundle Street, between Gawler Place and Stephens Place. The Birks was taken over by David Jones' in 1953. The old building was pulled down and replaced by David Jones' in 1961-62. The building in now known as Rundle Mall Plaza. David Jones' move east along Rundle Street and in now in Adelaide Central Plaza, which is where John Martin's used to be. In the left of the picture, you can see part of the tower of the old Myer Emporium, which was once Marshall's department store. It was pulled down in 1988, and replace with the current Myer Centre.

Malaysia didn't exist until 1962, Malaya a British colony. Sarawak became a British colony in 1945. Malaysia is a British creation when leaving se Asia, so grouping all the colonies together, Malaya, Singapore Sarawak , British protected country Brunei, and Sabah. We all know then Singapore and Brunei left the Federation. after time.

mga bakas ng lumipas. it comes and it goes. kahit tayo nasa kasalukuyan ay unti unti natin nakikita ang paglipas ng mga panahon. at darating ang araw ay isa na rin alaala ng nakaraan. 😌 kaya sana makapag iwan tayo ng magagandang alaala. bawat oras at minuto ay nagiging alaala.
