Loved this, Kate. It was so uplifting, after yesterday's events made the world seem an even bleaker place. Here's to the big picture being fed, and shaped, by the oh so important smaller and important steps we can each take. Thank you for this! Love, Bernadette

I love this video! It's so lyrical and lovely. This video reminds me of a favorite Irish author, Alice Taylor. In her book, "An Irish Country Christmas," she elaborates on some of the things you mentioned. Her tales of the season and the Irish countryside sparkle with magic - from the gathering of holly to the capturing of geese. Alice Taylor beautifully recalls the wondrous innocence of youth, where every snow-dusted corner of the landscape holds a joyful surprise.

I realized how important my morning pages are ... sitting down writing within the first 30 - 60 min. after getting up (6 am), streching, drinking hot water, some gingen, green tea ... past weeks felt more resistance ... so even changed my routine, doing the 5 Tibets (for decades) 1st thing before now 2nd AFTER writing. Here your short 'every word counts' supported that immensly ... was all easier + me filled with joy as long as my dog was still present ... as well would love to have cats again (always in Spain) ... but sure not in Berlin ... one more reason to change to a better place soon - just need to walk outside in pure nature ... forest, sunshine, nature sounds make me feel abundance Thank you, Kate, for reminding me of this aspect as well

Wrens are my favorite bird, Carolina Wrens specifically. I love their curiosity, playfulness and strong family ties. They peeked in my window all winter long. When I sit in my garden and I feel like I am being watched often when I look around it is a wren or several wrens as they do travel in packs! Thank you for sharing this story! Bless you and thank you, Kate! I am sleeping and waking and eating good food! The Cailleach never carried mud on her feet from one place to another...this means to me metaphorically that she does not carry the past around as a measuring stick for the present. She is childlike that way. ;-) So glad you are taking good care of your health. 💚

I love how you understand that tradition about the Cailleach and I think you're absolutely right. I've been thinking so much lately about the self-kindness of releasing the past, material and otherwise, and letting ourselves come fully and freely into the present, unburdened and trusting that we have within us what we need. Thank you for your kind good wishes and your great insight, my friend. ❤

When I was 5 years old I found my kitty Blackie. I carted him around with me wherever I went. He was my confidant and kept all of my secrets. He would always roll over on his back and let me pet his belly for as long as I would. One day my father mentioned that most cats won't expose their bellies like Blackie did, that he must trust me very much. Well, I felt very privileged and carried that trustworthiness deep in my heart. He left my physical world when I was 21, but he has remained my very best friend. I am now 67, and to this day still feel so grateful for him. And still miss him deeply.

It's Seanfhocail na Mumhan by "An Seabhac" (pen-name for Padraig O Siochfhradha).
