Typical Hollywood nihilist. Good actor, but I wouldn't want him teaching my kids. I'm so glad I'm a Fly -Over-Land hayseed. Glorious anonymity.

The concept of a "Noosphere" was established be the Jesuit priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. It's hardly a concept that would imply a nihilistic attitude to life at all. Teilhard thought of the "Noosphere" as a stage of consciousness that would ultimately culminate in what he called the "Point Omega". An ultimate culmination point of all conscious activity beyond our concept of time that Teilhard equated with the mind of God. If all existence is a film, perhaps that's where the director sits? ;)

Love his body of work , but just as he says in Repo "And no Christians either " he stays true to an occultic mantra . Lets go back a little further in history Harry , before Daoism , Budhha , and Confucious . His name is Shang-Di , the same god as the old testament . Creator of all .

Besides being a great actor and singer, he could have been a good narrator of documentaries as well. Perfect voice !

I get the feeling you had to approach some subjects in a certain way if you wanted Harry to actually give you something out of a conversation with him. I knew guys like that. I get that he had a core of non-self, but he's obviously playing it up a lot more than what's obviously going on with him, otherwise he wouldn't have been an actor doing stuff and interested in music and Marlon Brando in the first place ("I love that guy, he was great." "If you see Alex, tell him I love him." is not something people say when they are as detached as Harry tries to make you think here, I know from personal experience). I wonder if he was autistic to some degree (also personal experience) and using the Buddhism/Nihilism thing to cope with something.

Exactly my thoughts. He ‘talks’ it here, but did he always ‘walk the walk’… I doubt it.

A return to their roots for The Beach Boys and their first album way back in 1966 when they were then called The Mother Fuckers: Surfin' Cadaver & Vivisection Vibrations (a double lp, though the second disc was just Brian throwing up seawater interspersed with him farting Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight Of The Bumblebee" Phil Spectorishly wall of sounded) did yield one minor hit in Flushing Meadows that summer, "Coprophilia Girls", with that great line everyone was singing then, "She's a suicidal coprophiliac!"

Harry was a great actor but like many coming out of the actors studio during the ‘60s, everything was Zen. Honestly he’s a little full of shit, he looked medicated and tired here. He says he’s not a philosopher but that’s all he does in this is philosophize. He was agitated, I could see him being a pain in the ass to work with. You can easily see it. Gifted actor though.

Have you seen his interview on david letterman? Its hard to tell how he is behaving.

@@privateprivate1865 I haven’t, I’ll look for it. He’s a chameleon for sure. He looks tired and medicated here. Maybe a little agitated.
