Don Henley... I don't know what it is... he just comes across as pompous most of the time. And why is David Lindley wearing pajamas? Jackson seems to change so much over time. Here he looks like an Armenian concert promoter.

Love Jackson Browne. RIP David Lindley; a huge loss to music. He was so expressive/soulful on many instruments.

Outstanding! That's the real story about how the song started. And how it got finished. A lot of songs go that route. The Beatles were notorious for walking into the studio with unfinished song ideas. But, in the end, they always found a way to 'git er done.'

I admire Jackson Browne, but “Take it easy” wasn’t a hit until Glenn Frey finished it.
@patrickpower3992Ай бұрын
One could also say that it wouldn't have been a hit if Browne hadn't started it.
@MichaelSSmith-hs5pwАй бұрын
@@patrickpower3992 You’re right, but as Jackson said, it would have just sit on the shelf unfinished if Glenn hadn’t pestered Jackson into taking it down & finishing it. So we wouldn’t have heard it at all without Glenn’s persistence.

Thanks! I had too long of a lens for as close as I was, and if I recall correctly, I had to hold the camera high over people's heads. It was a pretty packed bar. Great show. Also... Whit is one of my favourite musicians, on and off the stage.

What always made the Eagles version of that song is the 2nd verse, the Winslow Arizona line with Glenn and Randy Meisner singing harmony. That's just honey for the ears, man!

I dunno how she holds the note. I can't sing sad songs. Came here from "The Lark" and "Who will sing"...both of which I prefer to this. Thats not me being horrible, its just this is a more traditional folk tune and I find the other two more accessible.

@@patrickpower3992 I agree which leads me to believe that they recorded the song b/4 the show , there is a question whether this was recorded b/4 or after the show , the fact that everything is covered suggest that it was recorded b/4 the show

Check out what great performer/songwriter like Jackson would eat before/after a concert. Looks like a sandwich making table with chicken or tuna salad along with possible egg salad.

Balhatchet was my building manager when I moved to San Francisco in 2010. He made it a point to tell me and my girlfriend when we applied for our apartment that he was in the film, so even though we both had probably seen it already, we rented it the first or second night to see him. We laughed. He is so bad in this scene... I wonder if he was too nervous in the presence of Eastwood as almost every movement he makes appears hurried and totally NOT as if he's accomplishing anything. He killed himself not two years after we'd moved in.

It's really gross how Henley tries to steal the credit from Jackson Browne. Browne wrote the song. Say it again - Browne wrote the song. One more time - Browne wrote the song.
@czarkhasm Жыл бұрын
I don't think that's the case at all. He tells what happened and Jackson corroborates it. Jackson has no problem with the way it worked out. It might have been a different song had Jackson kept putting it off. Maybe he never would have finished it. If he had finished it without Frey's help, possibly, the Eagles would never have used it. We'll never know. Ultimately, it worked out for everybody involved.
