Entertaining and informative. I would really like one of them barrels. Not the gunpowder kind, of course, nasty stuff.

Many historians today advocate for calling these places “labor camps” or “slave labor camps” or "forced labor camps" rather than “plantations,” in order to avoid hiding the truth of what really happened in these agricultural operations using forced labor. The story is not told about how the plantation owners became so wealthy and able to build these homes nor how the enslaved people were whipped, raped, and treated as livestock.

The tour guide gave an incorrect description of a plantation. We all need to call it exactly what it was, it was a forced labor camp. And do not refer to the slave owners as elite families. They owned human beings as property and treated enslaved people as animals.

Shooting Range is the only part of Hickory knob that hasn't went to shit! THE ONLY PART! WAS going to take my kids to Hickory Knob now that I'm grown, but ROB POWELL has let the entire place fall into disrepair. No tennis courts, the pool hasn't been maintained in years, and the cabins are no longer available due to "maintenance". Cause the "maintenance" workers are too busy hiding in the woods not doing shit! All at the same time EVERY room is booked every weekend. NEW MANAGEMENT IS DESPERATELY NEEDED! Not what it once was, feel sorry for the people that actually pay to stay here.

The purveyors of politcally correct revisionist history no longer use the word "plantation" or "slave." They refuse to call it what it is.

I don't know if he's being celebrated. We have beautiful homes from this era that we see and admire. We admire architecture from Greek and Roman times also . How they came about is horrible. It's possible for both .
