That was such a good idea to switch the tea drawer over. I love making those little tweaks in the kitchen to make it function better. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I know you'd want to be informed and make safer choices for you and the baby. A lot of those teabags you have contain microplastics, which of course are released with hot water and steeping. Loose leaf should be fine and some brands with safe teabags include Stash, Yogi, Traditional Medicinals, and Pukka.

I can't believe I missed this surprise post but it's also the right vibe for a Sunday morning so it's all good. Slow Growth - I love this concept, similar to the idea of doing something 1% better each time or each day. I don't even set goals or use a planner or make to-do lists anymore because I have failed them all. Instead, I've adopted that idea of slow growth to 'do the next best thing' to improve my life or the state of my home when I'm rested/fed/hydrated and up to the task.

Another declutter strategy without anxiety-inducing decluttering decisions: 🗑 Declutter the items you can effortlessly let go of. 📦 Store away uncertain items in boxes using a digital inventory with images. 🏡 Enjoy a clutter-free home with a digital overview of stored items. 🏷 Tag items in the inventory for sale, donation or review. ⏳ Let time declutter for you-what remains boxed is likely clutter, making decisions easier. As a "declutter professional" what do you think about this strategy?

I'm almost in Week 34 and also running around decluttering, organising and clearing stuff out which was a tad bit stressful with me being a freelancer and having ADHD. Luckily my gyno was like "girl, I gotchu" and wrote me a work exemption certificate so that I can de-stress and spend all my time nesting. Can't wait for Friday which will be my last work day. 🥰 Your video came riiight on time for me to stay motivated and tackle everything.

Hey ! I am back from long vacations and eager to nest ! We also have a lot of baby things waiting for their right places. But I'm considering emptying a piece of furniture for baby rather than buying one... So decluttering here also ! It's very helpful to think "let's make room for the baby" than "let's get rid of things". Like the sentence "when I say no to something, what do I say yes to ?". No gender reveal here ? I was pretty sure we where having a girl so we asked for validation... It appears that my intuition is quite bad since it's a boy 😂!

I absolutely love that - "when I say no to something, what do I say yes to?" - writing it down so I can come back to it!! I'm brainstorming some things we can repurpose too -- the white drawers I emptied in this video are going to be filled with baby things that live in our main area!! It's so crazy to be here but so so exciting. Congrats on the boy!! I am going to be posting some sort of reveal soon hahaha -- it's been on my to-do list for so long and I just keep forgetting about it!!

You have a really beautiful way of sharing. They call it a journey for a reason and there are many possible directions, obstacles, types of terrain, and ups and downs along the way. You did have a very minimalist wardrobe but of course you needed to bring in more clothes to fit during pregnancy. The 1 in, 1 out rule doesn't apply here as well as with all the baby items you need to acquire. It's a tough adjustment that maybe feels like failure but most of this extra stuff is necessary for the new life and your new season of life. I know you know all of this but I don't know if there's a way to stop you from feeling overstimulated and stressed about it. I can't wait to see your updated decluttering strategy!

I adore your content! Congratulations to the beautiful new addition to your family! I keep my thrift box/bag in my vehicle where it’s visible (front or back seat). If I have items to add, I leave them by my purse and keys (as a reminder to take them when I next leave the house). I don’t always take the box right away to donate; however, seeing it in my car serves as a reminder AND I can more easily drop the donations off if I’m out in the streets. I also believe it’s good to have children involved with tidying up at a young age. When my child was very young I would sing Barney’s “Clean Up” song and have him clean up his toys with me each day. And closed toy storage was a must!

Love this!!! I'm trying new ways to navigate my year as well! Instead of planning my goals for this year I stepped back and just went with my word of the year (actually a phrase this year, lol) "Navigating the Chaos" and my big goal is to just go with the currents, and try to keep things afloat. (Huge renovation saga and ultimately decluttering and making space for the changes in my life - a wheelchair) Thanks for the Cozy vibes and peaceful reset. It's all too easy to forget that Responsibilities can be taken slowly and still give us those cozy and relaxing vibes!

I love that. There is totally a time and place for detailed goal setting, and there are also seasons where it's just not the most effective way to move through life. I love your goal to just go with the current - sounds like a really kind and helpful framework. Cheering for you!! Hope things are going well so far this year!!

@anikajgreen remembering to follow the season we are in its so important and I think one of the harder things to remember, as life continually swamps us, and outside forces try to tell us the best ideas, instead of slowing down and noticing what we need. I think that was what was so powerful in your video for me! Remembering too look at our perspective and cozy can absolutely be taking care of what needs doing. Its not all about perfection.

Sweet friend i absolutely loved the style of this video! You most definitely accomplished the cozy Friday night vibes 🫶 Some ways i’m resetting for the year is simply doing the every day things that need to be done - i too put things off for no apparent reason other than me being lazy & saying I’ll get to it tomorrow & then tomorrow comes & goes. Welp it’s time we changed that! 👏🏼

Im also expecting our first baby in feb, and Im definitely trying to balance intentional buying with what I realistically need for a baby. There are some things Im holding off of because the baby industry is just overwhelming, but Im focusing on the necessities and health items. I've also been more intentional about decluttering my cats' toys that are too chewed up as I know with cat and baby toys together, it can be overwhelming. Definitely will have different baskets for each 😆Wishing you a smooth pregnancy and delivery as well!

My best advice for minimalist parenting is to join the library and a toy library (I don't know if these exist outside New Zealand, I hope so!). My son is 3 years old now, but I can see us doing this for years still. You will get sick of reading the same books over and over and kids attention span for toys is so short. Plus family and friends often like to gift these items for birthdays etc so we just never buy them. My son loves going to choose new books and toys, we usually go every 2 weeks. We had very minimal books and looking back could still have done with less! On the note of gifting - to avoid getting a bunch of 'stuff' on his birthday, asking people to chip in for a larger quality item or some kind of experience - e.g. last year we asked people to chip in for a quality balance bike. This was ideal and my son uses it a ton still a year later. This year we didn't do this, and I wished we had. Ideas are things like a year pass to a local attraction eg wildlife park, this is what we will do next year! Kids grow out of clothing super fast, so you don't want to invest in too much in one size, but also don't make life hard by not having enough items in the name of minimalism! Our baby had bad reflux so we needed lots of clothing items, not to mention the poo explosions, starting solids etc and now days getting into messy play at preschool. But buying them second, or buying low cost basics works for us. I also keep two small storage tubs in his wardrobe, one for 'growing into' items in his next size and one for 'grown out of' items - donate or pass on once the tub is full.
