I have vacuum sealed my ammo for long term storage in the original cardboard boxes, and store them in military ammo cans with silica packets. Overkill? Maybe. But I have 10 year old ammo that still looks brand new. Down side is it takes up a lot of ammo cans and space.

Why would you not protect your ammo from moisture in the first place? I've never come across this content creator before. Won't bother with him in the future for sure.

Side question. Should i place dessicant in my gun cabinet with my weapons? I just clean and oil them and lock them up now without dessicant. I have not stored my ammo in airtight containers with dessicant, but will now. My area has moderate levels of humidity so it may not be critical but it makes sense.
