That is a piccolo. The fourth valve allows you to go down to a lower octave Edit: been years since i played one so I'm not 100% certain but i think that's right.

you are the baddest trumpet player alive. I had the opportunity to me you and you are a nice guy too. I try to emulate you because you play jazz and classical trumpet at such a high level. God gave you special gifts and you truly used them. keep up the good work!!! My bigge st problem is my single tonging is so slow.
