I'm glad it was helpful! I am a crazy fast painter and frequently have to remind myself to slow down. Lol. The figure on the thu.bnail is Lyssette from Reaper Miniatures. The other one i show is Aphrodite from Heroes Infinite and the one I paint is a 3d print from dm stash. Both files for the 3d prints should be available in myminifactory. Hope that helps. Thanks!

For paint stripping delicate objects you can get a sand blaster that will connect to a compressor. Build a blasting box out of a plastic see through bin and use a gentle abrasive (like walnut shell) starting on low PSI and increasing until you get the results you like. That nose was probably done for any which way you look at it though.
@mandysminisАй бұрын
I agree on the nose. I'm not sure I do enough to warrant the purchase of a sand blaster, but that is a great idea! I may still look into that anyway, just for the sheer "cool" factor of having a sand blaster. Thank you for the suggestion, and of course for watching!

Does the solvent free UHU have the same effect?
@mandysminisАй бұрын
I haven't used it, so im not sure. However, I did take a class with the late, great Michelle Farnsworth, and she said the German manufactured uhu works better, so I would guess that would be the difference? @mandysminis2 ай бұрын
Me too. Thats why they are not typically in my videos. Wet paint and cat hair make for a bad mix. Not to mention the havoc with them chewing on my brushes, hiding them and attacking the figures and breaking them.
@pipfpv74892 ай бұрын
i was always wondering, do they shave those sables to get the hair or... you know...
@mandysminis2 ай бұрын
Good question... so I looked into it. What I found is: The hair comes from the tail of the kolinsky, a type of weasel. The "finest" brushes are made from the male hair, but most brushes are a mix of male and female hair. The hair is harvested in Siberia and the Far East, either from trapping or as a byproduct of farming.
@mandysminis2 ай бұрын
Pretty sure they don't "do in" the animal since it's more profitable to have the hair keep growing.

Great video! I was thinking you added to much highlighting until you showed the min under different lights and it looked so much better. One thing I do on my own minis is to use a glossy black to bring out the shapes that are already there. After minimal highlighting dull coat/cheating coat balances it out. @@mandysminis i rarely prime in black, generally i prime gray and then dry brush white. I did prime with necrotic flesh, and dry brush with a really light tanish white for a horde of zombies once which came out cool, but beyond that I guess i just take my time a bit more. I see some people rock out multiple minis in like an hour. My mind just wont allow me not to be more detailed about it. so technically it's speed painting, but i also still go back in and dress it up a bit more. also i hate eyes. sooooo much.

For me 4 hours would be an incredibly fast mini. The only actual army I ever tried was my space marines and that took much longer as I was picky about each of my soldiers looked before they died a horrible painful death on the table. Do blood bowl teams count? I saw some good tips in there. Face and skin first then working your way out is good until I realize my mini is really over accessorized. Great looking mini!
@mandysminis4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I believe blood bowl counts.... i count any mini your painting. I still prefer to take longer, but sometimes you just have to rush. I think 4 hours is really fast for a quality mini.

And it's really too bad when they over accessorize a mini. I don't like that as I feel it's unnecessary and always takes the focus to the wrong place and hides a bit of the paint job.

Some things came easier than others but There is no skill in my toolbox that did require incredible investment of time and effort. And that means everything from painting minis to welding. You made painting the genie look easy but there’s no way to show the work and endless effort that went into her. Even so Those who know what to look for can see it and it shines. Nice shoutout to more traditional painters too. We could not do this without learning from them first. Keep it up!!!!!
