All the "Panda" series products are a waste of money and this (and the Jetpack) put out WAY less air than the stock duct.
@a.nonamooseКүн бұрын
I can tell you this, along with the "Jetpack" are worthless. If you use an anemometer you'll see the stock fan duct registers about 4.00. These things register around 1.00. There is almost no air coming out. The whole "Panda" line is just trying to capitalize on Bambu's popularity.

I've had zero problems with the LIDAR, works as intended for me. I'm with you on the slightly larger size and heated chamber, and the nozzle changes. An AMS that was easier to clear jams would be fantastic. A simple to remove bottom panel would be great. More robust motors to over come simple edge-of-spool tension jams would be great.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't experienced any such problems. My prints are beautiful. The P1S has vibration compensation so if you run the calibration after the printer is setup in the configuration you use it it (AMS/Riser on top) the compensation takes care of the changes in resonance.

Nice video, its good to see videos that aren't spamming the internet with the same information. When I got into laser engraving, everyone was focusing on cutting boards, glassware, tumblers, and other stuff that has so much competition. I think this was very helpful with thinking outside of the norm and finding ways to create products specific to niche markets. I also like how you incorporated both of your lasers and your 3D printer to create this too. It really shows you can do so much when combining different tools and that's something I don't think about when trying to create a product. The Lightburn thing was really good to know too! I didn't know that changing different colors automatically had them show up as a different layer in Lightburn. I usually do solid color engravings but this was very helpful for me because in the past I would just add the file and manually change the artwork to a different layer.

Immediately ordered the LEDs and waiting on them to arrive. I have an unrelated question for you, though: I have the OMTECH AF-2435-80 and Im puzzled how exactly the "autofocus" works. I've used it a few times and it always sets the same distance from nozzle to worksurface, and it's about an inch, probably 24mm. Does that sound right to you? That's way higher than most other videos on KZbin show the correct focal length to be (usually 5-7mm).

I don't have the autofocus version so I'm not an expert on how it works. The distance from the bottom of my cone to the work surface for my lens is 18mm (verified by ramp test). Thanks for the no-nonsense review. I'm having a hard time finding anyone that doesn't recommend the A1 for a first time 3D printer. I've been watching from the sidelines since the early 2000s when things were pretty bad compared to now. I'm an engineer but I don't really want to fiddle with the printer too much unless I want to. Someone said that Bambu Labs is like the Apple of 3D printing. That resonated with me. Normally Apple is pretty good but the last few years have been dicey.
@directedt3ch11 күн бұрын
I am the same way. I used to enjoy tinkering and didn't mind spending hours to get something to work. When I decided to buy a 3D printer, I asked around and eventually bought a Prusa. They make great printers, but they still require work to get them dialed in. The Bambu printers take care of all of the dialing in for you. Quick unboxing, a few setup procedures and then the printer takes care of the rest. You can still make mistakes (like I did in the video), but they really do make it easy to get great prints without having to be an expert or have years of 3D printing under your belt.
@jmp762411 күн бұрын
Great video, I love anything related to functional and useful prints! Some of these have been so helpful for me personally too and the others would be helpful too if I had a different setup where I could use them. I really wanted that AMS riser but since I have my printer on a shelving unit, the AMS already hits the top shelf when trying to get filament out. The drawers, added plate holder, and best of all the glass top holder makes it so worth printing. I hate having to leave the door open and worry about that glass getting broke so opening the lid is way better. The plate guides and the desiccant pods have been a game changer as well and I always recommend them to my anyone with a P1S and AMS since you let me know about them. I haven't printed the Bambu scraper yet for the same reason it took you a while to. I was afraid it would tear up the textured bed but I'm going to print that right now! That would work great with any printer. I'm also super happy that you added and enjoy the AMS buffer release I designed! There are other separate tools that could be printed but I was afraid I would lose them and the others require you to add before installing the AMS so I'm glad this worked as well as it did after designing it. It really means a lot to add it to this list too!

Awesome breakdown! My motor makes a TON of noise sometimes. It seems like it's when it's about to change direction. I haven't taken mine apart yet, so I'm not sure HOW it's changing the direction it rotates the spool, but I assume it's mechanical? Either that or a polarity change? I'm not smart enough for this stuff. Any idea? I mostly want to stop it from rotating different directions because the noise gets really annoying, almost like it's loading up and struggling, then the direction changes and it's quiet again for awhile.
@directedt3ch11 күн бұрын
That's wild! From what I recall, it should only turn in one direction. The motor turns the spindle and it's that eccentric part that causes it to only engage every so often. I would be interested to know if the closed P1S is less dangerous to health? If the P1S uses a fan to exhaust the air from the enclosure and doesn't do it through a HEPA filter, I don't think there is much point in printing in an enclosure. I mean from a health point of view. I'd have the printer in a room, so the VOC fumes problem worries me a bit. The A1 is open, so has no protection.
@directedt3ch15 күн бұрын
That's a valid consideration. I've only printed with PETG and PLA, which I don't think have too bad of fumes. Some of the other filament types definitely can give off some nasty fumes. The A1 isn't suited for those filaments though, so it wouldn't be terribly wise to print them anyway.
@TerraMp15 күн бұрын
@@directedt3ch Thanks for the reply! PLA is also supposed to emit VOCs, just less, but even that can be problematic for a print run of several hours. You mentioned in the video that A1 should not be put in a house. Is this also the case for a larger cabinet? Because the solution might be to put the printer in an enclosed cabinet that is vented with a HEPA filtered fan. Although maybe I could buy the P1S for the price difference and then it would be unnecessary. But from your video, it seems like the P1S is more cumbersome and harder to maintain. I wouldn't want to buy a problem printer.
@directedt3ch14 күн бұрын
@TerraMp Bambu doesn't recommend putting the A1 in an enclosure due to heat (it doesn't have any fans for the electronics). The P1S does have fans and is designed for the higher temps.
