do your combined locs come undone or stay stiff? do you have to do crotchet maintenance on the ones you’ve combined every now and then?

they stay stiff & no, once their combined they’re good to go for regular maintenance (palm roll)

Firstly - love the decision to combine, it looks healthy and STRONG, i'd combine those at the back too girl only bc i personally like thicker locs myself. Otherwise the skinner ones are just as pretty (just a personal preference). I'm 1.6 years loced and i opted for thicker ones (44 locs atm), i knew skinnier ones had more potential for different styles but i just knew i loved the look of thic locs better (also with research knowing they have a stronger foundation and it takes less time to retwist LOL) But SO glad you voiced that you love your locs and its only the beginning. Many people deciding to comb them out discouraged me a bit BUT its diverse voices like yours that continue to encourage me and know theres still a community who ADORE them💃 S/o to YOU bc it suits you, you look amazing and congrats on that double certification ❤🔥xx Keep on keepin on

Locs are trendy so it makes sense that people are combing them out. For me it’s more than a trend. It’s the best decision I’ve made for my hair. I wouldn’t comb them out unless I had a plan and was as excited for that as I was when I first got my locs

if you’re years into your journey i’d say split them, if you’re still fairly new, i’d say comb out & start over

Ooorrrrr, maybe people just have preferences. Hairstyles are meant to be whatever the wearer wants it to be. I've had my locs for 2 years now and prefer them to be neat (not saying that them not being neat is bad).

yes & no. a plastic comb won’t break up the hair enough for you to crochet it back. this comb lessens the hard work, trust!!

Omggg you just taught me something!!! I have loose hair at the roots that just won’t loc up, I’ve tried crocheting and it never stayed.. now I know why (I wasn’t flipping my loc nor back combing) THANK YOU SO MUCH 🤍 oh and I’m 3 years, 3 months and 3 weeks into my loc journey ✨

It's so interesting how you as a loctition do updos on your clients but not yourself. I'm two and a half years and I also do not do updos. I just don't like them I don't like seeing scalp the tension that people's hair looks like it's under is not attractive in my opinion. I literally wear my hair just like you do.
