Jones was injured in a car accident in 1970, the year this was made and many (Jones included) believe it contributed to the her vocal waywardness throughout the 70's. This Fidelio sounds as though it might be before the accident, and shows how really impressive and colorful the voice was.

Me sorprende el desconocimiento de los comentaristas. Un papel que lo canta totalmente fuera de estilo, sin matizar, apretados agudos y el final no la cants a tono. Tengo criticas de esta representación y los criticos lo ponen fatal. Puro marketing para las masas.

Per me una delle opere migliori di Massenet. E' la terza volta che guardo questa produzione e ancora mi colpisce l'alchimia perfetta di Ramey con Lafont: insieme erano due artisti divertenti oltreché bravissimi. Riesco anche a capire abbastanza bene il loro francese.💥🎶💯
