So why do Germans say "Es freut mich, zu hause zu sein" I know nach is used with house but what's the subtle difference ?
@Germanonlinegym3 ай бұрын
"Nach Hause": This indicates movement towards the home. Ich gehe nach Hause translates to I'm walking home. "Zu Hause": This indicates the state of being at home. Ich bin zu Hause translates to I'm at home.
@sawwalker13 ай бұрын
@@Germanonlinegym Ooh I see, nach = movement, zu = arrived.

Hallo! Very good channel! Congrats on that , I just hate the other approach of teaching german throughout german 😢. That is teaching german people their own language I'd say . Best , at least for someone like me is to try to learn from English to Deutsch . I have heard that you can also express 'ago' with the word ' her' , like : 10 Yahre her ich bin in Munich geflogen . Is that right?
@Germanonlinegym5 ай бұрын
Thanks! And I totally agree, explaining grammar doesn't really make sense, if the students don't understand what you're explaining. As for your question, yes it's possible but a bit cumbersome: Es ist 10 Jahre her, dass ich nach München geflogen bin /vs/ Ich bin vor 10 Jahren nach München geflogen.

So far I like all the lessons I've watched on this channel but this one is confusing. Cambridge dictionary defines present perfect simple as "We use the present perfect simple with action verbs to emphasise the completion of an event in the recent past." So, "Ich habe gearbeitet" does sound correct here.

Still don't get it. Some of the German sentences I practice, don't seem to follow this method.
