Hi i got a question 🙋♂️. I was thinking of doing Parelegal Studies and get my Diploma, then my LLB (Bachelor of Laws), and then my LLM (Master of Laws). After that what do you recommend i do? Do I try to find and apply at Law Firms or what? Please advise thank you .

Hi there! Yes I am on that path as well. I would definitely recommend that, you can start looking for law firms as soon as you complete your diploma and then work your way up

If you’re enrolled for PLT through LEAD Distance learning, then all assessments will be online. If you’re registered for PLT that has venue based classes, then you’ll have venue based exams. I think some tests would be online

Hi Keneilwe, I did my PLTs through LEAD here is the link www.lssalead.org.za/course/attendance-school-for-legal-practice/ and I don’t know if UNISA does PLT training and as long as you have an LLB you can do the PLTs

First time here, it’s now home. Oh the question, to PLT or not PLT?! I’ll recommend to PLT but if you are interested in stretching your articles for 2 years, or are able to, then please consider that but do not take PLTs lightly.

Please proceed and enroll for LLB because you will [under the current curriculum or rules regulating legal practitioners] never get admitted as either attorney or an adv.

Heyy shazz, ive complete my paralegal diploma at UJ wabo nou im doing the llb here at unisa. I hear that there wont b exams for the FAC1503 (accounting) module just gang assignments like 7 i think, is that true. I dont know if u still remember when u did your 1st year llb unisa??

Hey hey Yoh PTSD with that module hey 😅 So I’m not too sure what the latest announcements will be with regards to the exams and I remember writing the exam for FAC1503 in first year. But if they will be doing assignments that makes it easier.

You would need to meet certain requirements especially with regards to SAQA, it would need to be equivalent to the LLB here in SA
