hi friend, great work!!! I need to ask you for some information for my peugeot 206 1.6 16v turbo (tu5jp4) LOW cost project. I plan to change the pistons to other low compression forged wossoners (9.1/1) I need to know if to make just 200-220 hp you also need to change the connecting rods or if the standard ones are able to handle this power. I would like to put a fairly small turbo like the one on the THP 200cv and possibly also the intercoler and pipes from that engine that is mounted on the 208/207/rcz... I keep the original gearbox with open differential but will have the bevel gear impeller reinforced by bolting or welding it so that it doesn't slip (those are interference tightened). friend these are just some project ideas I have in my head, I'll probably have to buy a reprogrammable control unit... What do you recommend I fit to spend as little as possible and still get a result of 200hp? I would like a car ready to exit corners from 3.0rmp up to 7.0rmp. thank you so much friend, I will always be a saxo fan!!!

@matteodessi242 you could achieve 200hp with a decompression plate and a low boost setup. Standard rods are fine to that power level.

Very interested in the front splitter you come up with just about to start my turbo build after my brother finishes his high compression NA mk2 saxo this week, hope to bump into you one day and talk nonsense track side, until then keep the videos coming its helping alot!!

Hi Sean, I been looking to fit a 1.6HDI DV6 OEM Forged crank on a TU5JP (NFZ). I dont know if I could fit yet, but compared differences are 6,3mm more of stroke (88,3mm) and bigger pulley shaft size (which can be bored to TU5JP size to fit the oil pump gear sprocket, I hope). Block end and rod journals are the same O.D, even the half shells are on the same spot, rear main seal O.D is the same too. Did you know something about this crank? I didnt seen on any build so Im judging that wouldnt be possible but I want to give a try as an option to a afternmarket forged crank (far away more expensive) Thanks Sean, Im a new subscriber

Looks awsome buddy, my only issue i see would be if using on the road would the angle of the fins foul a uk speed bump, would hate to see all the work bent up on the first one

@project_possible yeah I have the same concern. It's a compromise of being usable on the road and actually being functional really. Ideally it need to be about 4 inches lower but it'd last 5 minutes. It's height adjustable so I'll see how it goes.

@PROJECT5AXO maybe a angle cut over a curve would be more road friendly, without affecting the dynamics to much. Seems now you have one you may possibly have to have two... one road and one track friendly

Hey Sean, just curious why you didn’t consider changing the plate loading on the gripper diff over swapping it out for the ATB?

@insidershoe I think ultimately the quaife was closer to what I wanted for road use. The gripper was already on its "softest" road based rates. I don't think I'd have gotten what I wanted from it. Hard to say for certain without a bunch of testing of course.

@@matthewjones3328 taking the tank out is easy. Fuel filler neck off. Undo the fuel pump wiring from the top and the two hoses. Then get underneath and undo the nuts holding it in place. Not a difficult job at all.

Interesting fact for the Saxo fans! The 16v badge on the rear qtrs actually originated on the ZX 2.0 16v, which also had the similar stick on arch extensions.

Great improvement Sean, that really goes well now and puts the power down perfectly, i did spot your car at one of the baguette bashers meets, caffeine and machine, my black 206 turbo was centre stage and it was one of the first times the car had been to a meet lol. I had a good look round yours which looked brilliant and really well built!

Incredible level of restoration! Considering Matt says he had lack of knowledge the workmanship says otherwise and has been done to a beautiful standard! Ps Sean mine is actually a mk1 VTS aswell 😛😛 didn’t realise they were that rare!

1997 I ordered a Mercury grey VTR brand new from my local dealership. I collected it at midnight as the new reg came in (R) along with several other customers. The dealership hosted a Casino night and at the turn of 12.00 we all got to drive off in our new cars. It was a big deal back then when the reg changed only once a year. Went back a couple of weeks later for the boot spoiler to be fitted. Mine had the immobiliser key pad too.

Mine was a 1996 (the first year of production I think) but registered post sept so on the R reg. Unlike this one mine had a proper glove box where the airbag is in this one, plus as I mentioned it had a key pad immobiliser. I’ve got an original brochure somewhere. Watching this vid was a bit weird as I can remember the feel of the leather gear knob and even the smell of the interior, yep I know weird!! I sold it in 2000 for a Seat Ibiza Cupra.
