Project 5AXO Ep58 - 330+bhp Citroen Saxo VTS Turbo - Back from the bodyshop

My good friend Dane Brookes had a black saxo vtr he had these same wheels on it and it was black. He had everything ready for the build. 106 gti close range gearbox gt28 turbo and everything else brakes interior everything. We stripped it down and the shell went away for welding by someone who was supposed to be the main man in welding these particular cars. It came back and he wasn't happy with the work and fell out of love with it. Sadly selling the now bare shell. Apparently it went i to rally or something. The reg was M5 AXO i believe. My friend passed away and ive been hoping i could find and rebuild it exactly as he wished however i think my chances are gone. But this car here just completely threw me off and brought up some great memories. Thank you and good luck with it. ❤

My mum had the VTR in blue she loved it unfortunately some behatch crashed into her and left the scene! They had to cut her out she was more upset about the car than anything else. This one looks proper 👌

The great thing about a lot of cars from this era is they are very easy to take apart and put back together. Even working on the engines is relative simple and easy.

Mate of mine at uni had one when they were new back at Uni some 20-odd years ago, had the pleasure of driving it and for a good number of years after it was the fastest thing I had driven. It seemed relentless once it came on cam and always remember how it revved to about 7.7k, which seemed pretty obsene for the time. He Dimma kitted it, which wasnt really my bag but it did look good. He sadly wrote it off then did a similar thing with a VTR (as I dont think he could get insured on another VTS 😂) and whilst decent definitely was not the rocketship the VTS was. These things turbo'd up to that kinda horsepower must just be utterly insane 😂😂

A friend of myne about 18 years ago had a saxo vts turbo which back then no1 had anything like it , i remember he went over to the Netherlands to have it mapped for some reason it was 270bhp at the wheels and it was shockingly fast , that thing of yours is going to be an animal on the road

Yes. Basic emissions check and a vehicle health check.

Make it 4x4 or Rwd no way on earth thats gonna put 330 down on its 1 tyre fire..

Gripper Plate diff should take care of that, plus some sticky tyres. Boost by gear too. Plenty of ways around it these days :)

@@PROJECT5AXO its way less hassle + set up better for future mods make it Rwd /sit the engine long ways + get a shaft etc etc build up a rear cradle/mount , you'd have to do everything you said to put 250hp down, you'll put your foot down tomorrow at 30 and its gonna stop spinning at 80 but it'll still feel fast + make you smile ! Ive been in a 300hp 5turbo that just spun constantly and you've got a more torquey engine + almost same weight/ballast mass over the front wheels as a R5 turbo.

@@TheCraigy83making it 4wd is way less hassle? I don’t know where you get that idea from. This car will be fine as a fwd. Another guy from the uk had a s2 106 Rallye running 408hp at 22psi and it raced and beat a 997 911 turbo from a roll. These cars are so light that they pull hard even when turning their tyres into gas.
