The sound quality and mixing on your recording for the intro was amazing.

Talking about dual overdrives, I bought the Protein V3, the Tone King Duellist, the Wampler Pantheon Deluxe and a Crazy Tube Hi Power. I like the Protein a lot, but according to my opinion nothing is better than the Duellist, if you like gain. If you like all the nuances you can get on a clean sound, the Protein is better. The right side has a reasonable amount of gain, the left is the opposite.

I have both. One American Ultra and one Player Plus.. Honestly can’t really tell the difference. The paint on the American is prettier.

You didn't exactly compare the Jazzmaster to a Jaguar... That's a Johnny Marr signature Jag. It's completely different to a regular Jag. That's why he completely did the changes that he did. You can only get that sound from a JM Jaguar. Those are Bareknucle pickups that you can only get with that guitar. And you're not going to find a Mustang saddle on a regular Jaguar... I own a JM signature Jag.

How can we heard tone difference if you put tons of reverb delay….
@BenNeal15 күн бұрын
Good point! I think because context is what matters. If you can’t hear a difference in a mix or with effects then the difference isn’t big enough to matter!

One thing a lot of people don’t consider is that the Falcon is 25.5” scale length vs Electromatics 24.6” scale length. I bought my Falcon (G6136T-LTV) around 15 years ago because it had always been my “dream guitar”. I don’t live anywhere near a pro-line Gretsch dealer, so bought it without playing one first. The truth is it has rarely seen the light of day since I got it because I find the longer scale length doesn’t suit me. I won’t sell it, because I still think it’s the pinnacle of production line guitars and I still love owning it, but I’ve bought several Electromatics since then which have received infinitely more play time because I find their shorter scale length much more comfortable.

I did what I had to do - get them both. No kidding. Once you tapped that vein, you're lost.

I dreamed of getting a White Falcon and saved up my dollars (about $5500 Aus at the time), I played several but didn't really like how they felt. I was super disappointed and was going to forget about it, then my wife suggested I try out an Electromatic. I went around the local guitar shops and tried more than ten Electromatics before I came across a really nice White/Gold G5622TG that I bought. After a couple of years I had a luthier set it up, I put fat flat wounds on it and it's even better. I absolutely love playing jump blues on it! I know a lot more about guitars these days and realise the guitars I tested out back then were probably not set up very well by the guitar shops, but the difference between the same model Gretsche guitars was huge. I used the left over money to buy more guitars lol

What are you running that through to get that effect at the beginning? It’s got this cool, almost U2 type ring to it. How do you achieve that sound?

I always wanted to have a White Falcon, and a couple of years ago I bought the same white G5410. Well, it's like you're been in love with a movie star, but you're marrying the girl next door 🤣🤣🤣 In your video, Falcon sounds much more interesting. There is volume, there is depth, there is.. Damn! Some nobility. After Falcon G5410 sounds less expressive and flat.

Hard not to love a $4000 guitar that you own. I just couldn't spend that, so I bought an Electromatic and I love it. Spend the big money on amps and speakers, unless you can afford all the top gear.

I got the Fuzz straight away (bit of a Fuzz collector) and love it, lots of options in that little plain box, I'm also a crusty, busted fuzz fan and this doesn't disappoint. I did decorate mine, just a bit. Fuzz is more good.
