Do we do anything with the value of 46.630 at 10:00?
@greenbeltacademy15 күн бұрын
Nope, but I calculate it because its the grand mean (average of the averages) for the entire experiment. The ANOVA method of evaluation would use the grand mean to calculate the total sum of squares, but not the average and range method.

Hello Andy, I am approaching my ASQ green belt exam and I wanted to confirm how many resources I can bring? Would the handbook and a 3 ring binder be acceptable? Thanks for the help!
@greenbeltacademy15 күн бұрын
There isn't a limit on the number of resources you can bring in. So yes, you can bring in the handbook plus a 3-ring binder of additional content (not practice exams).

hi andy , thanks for the video , I have over three years experience in the industry, how do they verify this information,because I left the industry three years ago to pursue my masters program. i intend writing the green belt exam , .also how do I get the resource material to use in preparing for the exam. i am curious to know I have seen so many green belt examination online including that offered by iasc , I am quite confused if all these certifications are recognized too
@greenbeltacademy18 күн бұрын
Hey there. There is no real verification process for the information that you provide. They rely on the honor system and expect you to live up to the ASQ code of conduct and be honest about your experience.
@vincentukazu345321 күн бұрын
hi thank you for this video, please I am confused , how many green belt certifications are available , I thought there's a single regulatory body for the lean six sigma, also how do I get a material to study for my exams
@greenbeltacademy18 күн бұрын
Great question. So there are a handful of organizations that provide “certifications” for Lean Six Sigma, and there’s no central regulatory body. In terms of getting study material, there are options out there. My course (which I think happens to be the best) can be found on my website.

Is Systematic Error and Random Error are reversed in your video? Systematic error is caused by variation in the system, common cause. Random error is special cause, outside of the system noise.
@greenbeltacademy15 күн бұрын
Hey Jerry, I don't believe those are reversed. To be honest, I went back to my ASQ resources (Black belt handbook, CQE Handbook) to see if I could find a definitive answer here, and unfortunately I can't.

Yes! I would try to include samples in your experiment that are non-conforming. The logic here is that you should want to ensure precision for true failures that you expect to see during routine production.

The treatment is different octane gas, so there’s 4 groups of data in different treatments, making the number 4. 10 is the treatment sample size mentioned in sum of squares calculation.

There is lots of discussion on estimating population variance, but no definition for the population. Is the population all of the cars that use octane? Are there different populations for each octane rating?
@greenbeltacademyАй бұрын
In this case the population would be cars using any octane of gas, that mirrors our null hypothesis with assumes that the octane gas will have no effect on HP.

Hello! This was an amazing series and I learned so much for an upcoming project I have for my work so thank you for the information! I do have one point of posssible correction for the excel sheet template we get from the link. I noticed that the final equation for the AV cell might have missed a set of parentheses for the max - min cause I think it is dividing the min average by d2 and then subtracting that from the max average. It was causing my AV % to skyrocket to like 90%. Either way the template saved my life for my project and I extremely appreciate the work you put into educating people on this topic!

Yes, I think that’s a great idea!! To be honest, you might want to go straight to black belt. The math is equally as difficult as CQE, and the certification isn’t to difficult relative to CQE.

Thank you , super explanation , why 10 parts, why not 30
@greenbeltacademy2 ай бұрын
Good question! 10 parts is sort of the industry standard. Outside of that, I’d say that 10 samples is generally enough samples to capture the entire design specification range, while also providing enough measurement values to estimate the repeatability and reproducibility.

Great video!! It helped me understand the concept. I'm still confused about a specific scenario when you have a fixture with different stations, should I run my GRR placing the part always on the same stations and randomly? Would that add more variation in my GRR results? Thanks in advance.
@CQEAcademy3 ай бұрын
Great question!! Okay, so the pure definition of repeatability is the variation that is unique to the measurement equipment, and that should also capture any variation in the equipment fixture. So when you run your GR&R you can randomize the fixture that you're using when you take your replicate measurements, but definitely know that this will increase your repeatability. If your repeatability ends up being unacceptable, then you can look at your fixture specifically as a source of variation that could be improved to reduce your repeatability.
