Hey There Andrew, when you're applying for the exam, you'll provide your experience and your resume. Part of the application process is agreeing to comply with the ASQ code of ethics, which includes acting with integrity. And I do not believe that ASQ does any additional verification of your reported experience.

Hi Andy, awesome video. Thank you! May I ask what your thoughts are on the ASQ CSSGB online prep course? I just became an ASQ member and I have very limited knowledge of Six Sig and Lean methodologies. I already ordered the ASQ SSGB handbook and study guide. I'm wondering how comprehensive the cert prep course might be? I'm also of course considering your training options. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

I am a PMP and involved in project and maintenance planning. Is this enough for experience?

Great question! So project management is technically within the body of knowledge. So your experience would count. You could also consider if you've ever done any problem solving within your career (Hint: everyone has), and that activity would also fall into the body of knowledge.

Is there any difference in certification for a LSS or SS?

Hey Brent, so (as you know) the L stands for Lean, so in a LSS certification also know to know about Lean tools/concepts. I absolutely recommend (if not demand) that you also learn about Lean because it is such an amazing mindset/concept within continuous improvement

@@CQEAcademy Thanks for the reply! Sorry, let me be a lot more specific. I'd like to get a Lean Six Sigma certification from the ASQ. However, I can only find testing for regular Six Sigma. Are the tests interchangeable, and the 'lean' added based on knowledge/experience? Thanks :)

Hey @@brentb5026 so the green belt, and black belt bodies of knowledge, both include a variety of lean topics - so those certifications (CSSGB and CSSBB) both would be considered a LSS certificate

so, you have to apply for the test first, they review then you find out if your accepted? So, I should wait until I hear a response back first?

Hey Chris! Yes, once you submit your application, there's a waiting period where they review your information to confirm eligibility. But you pay when you submit your application. I believe if your application is rejected you get a partial refund.

@@greenbeltacademy oh wow that kind of stinks. You have to pay and commit to a test date. That could become costly depending on how many certs you want. I do think there is refund minus 100 dollars. So i guess the application fee is 100 dollars.

@@christopherwood3643 Most of my students start studying for the exam, and once the feel confident, then they schedule the exam. Waiting builds confidence and mitigates the risk of having to reschedule your exam.
