While I do agree that female genital mutilation is even more horrifying than circumcision of boys, this kind of debate is a deadend and usually made in bad faith to downplay the downsides of male circumcision without consent (of the child). Moreso I do believe there is a racial if not racist aspect in this kind of rhethoric. Western civilized societies have traditionally not viewed male circumision as barbaric but instead in the case of the US, created their own tradition of circumcision of neonatals at a huge rate. Other societies have always allowed the circumcision of boys, even by non-medical personell, for religious reasons. On the other hand none of these western societies would allow the surgical deletion of the clitoris for any reason. Only "barbarians" do that, third world countries. So it's easy for the western, usually white societies, to condemn the practice of female genital mutilation, while on the other hand the practice of circumcision of boys could not be wrong since it has been done within white socities for decades if not over a century.
