Great video bud, I've subscribed 😊 I'm in Perth as well. I'm considering selling my 2020 M340i and getting back into a JDM car (I've had multiple Evo's, GTR, Golf R etc before) but this time with a Manual Transmission and a real HANDbrake. The GR Corolla or GR Yaris is at the top of my list (I need a 4 door, as I have a family, but would rather a Rally Homologation car i.e. GR Yaris.... ahhh decisions decisions LOL) 😊 Cheers Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)

About 2kg per corner lighter than OEM. They may not be the lightest rim available, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm in the UK and own a low mileage 2020 silver 4 door saloon C43 V6 - so updated version with 385 bhp 4 pipe exhausts etc. Car in normal comfort auto mode drives ok but put it into any sport mode and it becomes a bonkers machine with the noise and explosion of amg exhaust. Love the car apart from one gripe with the gearbox which can happen on every journey. If you pause at a junction briefly then decide to go, the gearbox will suddenly change from 2nd gear to 1st gear just as you hit the accelerator. The car then jerks. Not a pleasant experience. If you pause at the junction long enough, then it wont happen as it will change to 1st gear before you start off. Otherwise the gearbox is amazing with its 9 gears keeping revs very low at speed so easily achieving mid 30 mpg on a run. Have seen 40mpg once. Amazing economy for this sort of performance. Always use manual mode when in in a hurry and dont have a problem with rev limiter as seem to change up by sound as car travelling too quick to keep a eye on rev counter ! Might have to slow things down one day as 71 yrs !!

Appreciate it....in terms of actual decibles, I really wouldn't know. It's definitely louder, but the real difference is higher in the rev range. 👍

Why audi didnt paint those rear rotor hubs is beyond me... just bought my 2018 RS3 and i cant stand the sight of them... Just waiting when service is around the corner, ordering some and having them fitted at the same time cause i do not trust myself with brakes whatsoever 🤣

Check the video at 12:01....it's spliced into the 12V output from the steering wheel centre.. This is the way the company suggested it but make sure your battery has been disconnected before doing anything around airbag wiring. To be clear, do not touch the wiring that goes to the yellow plug....this is airbag only.

I admire what Toyota have done with their GR range but for me when it comes to looks it comes across as trying too hard much like the previous Type R which looked way over riced, for me these GR cars look too riced. When you talk about whether certain cars are over priced now the answer is yes they are but when you want something like these then unfortunately that’s what they cost. I’m more an Audi fan and my RS3 makes these look cheap so if you’re asking if the Corolla is overpriced then have a think about what a hot German car costs lol, one thing I will say I prefer most about my car over these is that Audi made it look tougher without going over board, they pumped the guards out to make it fatter without bolting on stuff like the Corolla in the rear, I do like the front of the Corolla though but if I was looking for a hot small car in this price range it would be the new Type R

Bruh, the design isn't knew, it comes from the yaris and regular corolla. Also those older type r's were ugly as hell, gr corolla is good looking.

@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 Bruh? Ain’t talking about the design but the oversized wheel arches which make it look ricer big time as like I said the previous Type R did. Current Type R is better looking than the GR Corolla but if you’re a GR fan boy then you will have a different opinion, I’m not into either the Honda or Toyota but if I were to choose one it would be the Type R as Honda have been doing hot hatches for ages and do it almost better than anyone else but I would take a German hot hatch everyday

@knight2425 It looks great imo, the front is boring, but the back is beautiful, looks like a proper jdm. It's jdm what rice. But yeah it does look cheaper since they added panels instead of shaping the body, yaris doesn't have panels they just shaped the body and it looks way. Meh, I'm not a type r guy, I think it's an ugly car, and for the price, I would much rather get the integra type s or tlx. Reason I prefer GRC is the awd and it looks better. Stupid, if I think it looks better I'm a fanboy. Or maybe I have different taste clown.

The Integra is nowhere near as good a driver car as the type R and even though it’s styling is questionable it’s one of the best hot hatches you can but if you’re a driving person but like I said the Germans do it the best hand down and I would pay a little more money for one

@knight2425 It's almost the same car on a different body, what are you even talking about. Type R has issues too, the new ones get heat soak, so it's not a perfect car and also it's not a real hot hatch. It looks like a tesla, the grc is a real hot hatch.

The overheating center diff really keeps me from getting car. Like a lot of FI cars, it seems lacks enough cooling for a 20-30 minute track session

I think you mean the electro-mechanical clutch that sits between the front and rear diffs. The GR Corollas and Yarii don't have centre diffs.

Love mine almost had it 1 year now. To help keep those wheels clean auto glym wheel protectant spray works a treat, dont miss the centre console good reason to take less sh.t in the car. Im a corolla enthusiasts if you look at any of the "hot" version in the past the look has been subtle like you have to look twice eg SX had a small little boot extension on the seca and slight extension off the roof on the hatch and slightly different bars front and rear but tha 1.6l 4age magic, the levin sportivo only had one colour a slightly bigger wing and wheels then the standard levin of the ae112 7afte little bit underwhelming but im glad it exists, sportivo only had extensions on the front bar and side skirts no wing and again singing NA marvel 2zzge so the fact the gr has a wider stance and the bonnet buldge thats tastefully exicuted with a turbo awd setup a wing would be un toyota hot corolla if you catch my drift. Is it too quiet maybe a little but its a more unique sound then the i30N and the civic type R and the golf gti/R i hate those obnoxious poping exhausts

I'm a bit confused, i was sure the 2016 models were alll C450's(not c43) and had no option for performance exhaust as well as the 7 speed instead of the 9 speed. Is this really a 2016 and not 17/18?

The initial roll was 1.52m x 9.05m but I ran a little short on the rear bumper, so worth going a little extra in case of mistakes.

C43/450 from 2015 to 2018 look astonishing, 2019 to 2021 look regular C class, but definitely better overall car than C63. btw tell those C63 owners that BMW M3 ain't "one man one engine" yet leave them in the dust.

@@sulojansurenthiran3018 it all comes down to personal preferences, for my taste prefacelift AMG looks more AMG than facelift and the different between regular C class and AMG is more noticeable on the prefacelift C class. Sure there are some "upgrades" but those are so settle which can be found as 3rd party on after market kits, in which I see no reason to do so.

Hey! 2017 c43 owner here, have you had any issues with the transmission? mine has been feeling sluggish, for example, when I get in and drive off, the gear change between 1-2-3 does not feel smooth, I dont hear anything bad, but it feels like the car is just barely up to speed to shift into the next gear.

I did find the transmission doesn't really like being cold. I used the AMG screen to monitor the temps and let it warm up a bit before asking it to perform. From memory it's a fairly agricultural gearbox, so I'm not sure we should expect the refinement of some if the later Mercedes fleet. But to answer your question, I never had any issues with the transmission in terms of faults or breakages.

I'm thinking of buying one 2017 C43 these days. It's second handed and with a mileage of 60k, from US Florida with a reasonable price after everything. Do you think it's worth it? Will it require maintainence after 70k or 80k? I'm really concerned about maintainence fees. What you think?

You should always factor in maintenance, but the good news is that the C43 is pretty good when it comes to reliability. Mercedes parts will always be a little more expensive, but at least not as bad as parts for a C63 👍. If you like the car and are in a position to afford it, I say go for it.

Nah mine didn't die. A friend has had that happen though on his S3 but luckily managed to get them replaced under a third party warranty. Seems to be more and more common now. May be worth approaching Audi.
