England's players aren't on the same level as the others, their subs are sub par, and their coach is distinctly average, it's time he went, but the rfu will plod on until after the next world cup. knew steward was gonna get skinned by kolbe before kickoff. the France game was fantastic, I thought bielle biari was man of the match.

Great matches. As a nzer that gets quite frustrated with nz. I don’t feel disappointed with this loss. Nz probably the better team but didn’t win it. Perhaps even a good thing for nz mid and long term to lose this one. I don’t think their year has been great. And if they won this one it may have made the year seem great. They have a bit to work on.

Ireland will not lose to Argentina
@kerrylass2Күн бұрын
No no have to disagree with you men on this one. You are underestimating the rugby knowledge in ireland....EVERYONE knows how dangerous the Args are and that we are the only tier 1 team they havent beaten at home. Lost to them in WC. Also we are all familiar with Contempomi and there is huge respect for him and in fact many irish predicted the Args would spring a few surprises in the Rugby Cup..got that right. The main concern for Ireland is coming out and performing to the standard we expect from them...jury is out on the result. Heading to the Aviva shortly...🤞 Oh and it was Paul O'Connell who designed those 2 Murray trys in the Summer series...just sayin'.

Dear Mr. Jones and the Editorial Team at The Times, I recently read your article, "Time to Outlaw South Africa’s Dangerous, Arrogant ‘Bomb Squad’," and I am compelled to respond to the absurdity of your assertions. Your piece reeks of a nostalgic yearning for a bygone era of rugby that simply doesn't reflect the realities of the modern game. It appears you’ve mistaken your personal biases for objective analysis, and it’s time to set the record straight. First and foremost, to label South Africa’s “Bomb Squad” as “dangerous” is not only misguided but also a gross oversimplification of what they represent. The depth and talent of the Springbok squad are testaments to their hard work, dedication, and strategic acumen. You seem to equate size and power with malice, failing to recognize that rugby has evolved into a sport where strength and strategy coexist. It’s not the players’ fault that they are exceptionally fit and skilled; rather, it’s a reflection of the level of professionalism in the game today. Moreover, your disdain for the number of replacements allowed in a match is bewildering. Rugby is a physically demanding sport that requires a high level of stamina and resilience. The introduction of substitutions is not about “destroying the game” but about enhancing it. Fresh legs can change the dynamics of a match, providing teams with the opportunity to maintain intensity and pace. Your suggestion to limit substitutions is reminiscent of a bygone era where players were expected to endure the entire match regardless of their physical condition. In a time when player safety is paramount, such a stance is not just outdated; it's reckless. Your glorification of Eben Etzebeth’s endurance while disregarding the contributions of the entire squad further illustrates your narrow perspective. Yes, he played brilliantly, but so did his teammates who came on to make an impact. Rugby is a team sport, and every player, whether a starter or a substitute, plays a crucial role in the team’s success. To elevate one player while disparaging others is not only unfair but also diminishes the spirit of teamwork that rugby embodies. You also make sweeping generalizations about the “arrogance” of the Springboks, which seems to stem more from jealousy than from any objective analysis of their performance. The Springboks have proven themselves time and again on the world stage, and their success has drawn the ire of those who cannot stand to see a team dominate. Instead of hurling insults, perhaps you should celebrate their achievements and the competitive spirit they bring to the sport. Lastly, your call to “defuse the bomb squad” is not just an attack on a group of players; it’s an attack on the evolution of rugby itself. Change is inevitable, and rather than resist it, we should embrace the new strategies and styles that arise in response to the demands of the game. Rugby is richer for the variety and depth that modern teams bring to the pitch. In conclusion, your article fails to engage with the realities of contemporary rugby and instead opts for a nostalgic lament that does little to contribute to meaningful dialogue about the sport. Perhaps it’s time to step back and reassess your perspective, rather than clinging to outdated notions of how the game should be played. Sincerely, A Passionate South African Rugby Supporter 🏆🏆🏆🏆

For the Ireland series win in New Zealand I keep thinking that too many of us forget that it was the very beginning of a new regime in NZ and that they were only at the start of their transitioning. Nothing taken away from the Irish in saying that. But the AB’s were never going to stay as vulnerable as that for too long.

the way Dan Cole was talking on their pod with Ben Youngs was also quite revealing. you also got this feeling that the structures aren't what it should be, players weren't sticking to all the plans, trust wasn't quite there. their "new" defensive shape will take time to bed in but if it doesn't have total buy-in and causing conflict it is a problem.

great commentary as usual chaps. idea: IRB need to market Nov matches as an annual North v South tournament. (it's springtime for half the teams) That wld be easy to get into for the casual viewer & would have the tier 2 games (also on now) have more relevance, as each week would have a tally of how many games each hemisphere won & lost etc. A bragging rights end of year loose tournament tht would have a wider, universal tribalism i imagine. just a thought :)

Great win by Auss, loved it...said at the beginning of the International season that Auss will be one of the favourites at the 2027 WC in Auss under Joe Schmidt...he has a quiet, humble, self-assured confidence of someone who knows just what he's doing to prepare and build this Wallabies team...they will be formidable in 2027 and may even win it based on their four year journey under Schmidt, and their home advantage to boot. If it's not the Springboks in '27, may it be the Wallabies - have great respect for Schmidt and his modus operandi. They've laid a great foundation for the rest of the Autumn series too. B&I Lions beware in 2025, it's gonna be a very different and competitive Wallaby beast in eight months time..would love them to take the series..will be 2-1 iether way😊 P.S. Angus Bell would make the Springbok team, hes the strongest, best, most skillful, and lethal carrying front row on the planet - love to watch him with ball in hand, he never gives away possession iether. Suaalii reminds me of Sonny Bill, same impeccable off-loads & hands, and a big strong boy, gonna be great to watch him advance. Well done Auss, Joe Schmidt, and the entire coaching group for the win and the progress they're making. The signs are there, a conspicuous and beckoning call that should be heeded by all😊

Bell is once in a generation player. helluva player. 4. Aussie have 5 world class carriers in Valentini, Bell, Wilson, Iketau, Tupou. 5. Carry and cleanout was topclass. 6. You bullied England physically. Look at what they did to Curry. 7. Suali justified but lets not get too carried away just yet. 8. England were arrogant and tried to win the match in the first 10 minutes but the fast and open style played right into wallabies hands and inadvertently sparked wallabies the dna running beautiful rugby. From a kiwi NB. Ref had a shocker
