On the topic of "a possible redemption arc", Id say Juri doesn't actually need on. We need some "villains" to stick around. She's a bit fucked up still, but honestly far better off then she was before. An now she's just doing the only thing she knows and is good at, but at the same time isn't nearly as evil as she could've been. She's a criminal still yes, but almost like a petty criminal more then a real terrible/evil person. Thats good enough to me.

oddly enough, it would almost seems like a reference to seth the fact that the player supposedly trains and learns every fighting style the other characters use and since our character also ends up with direc ties to shadaloo i wouldn't be surprised to see seth come back in sf7 using our character's body as a tool or vessel maybe giving juri a reason to fight alongside the others against shadaloo and seth instead of on her own

Slight correction, after Juri tells you her backstory in SF6, she proceeds to laugh in your face and claim she made the whole thing up. So it’s a mystery how much of that prologue is actually true.

i just realised that, juri has a very similar story compared to Baiken from guilty gear, they both lost part of their body ( eyes and both are left if i'm not wrong ) they had their clan/familly murdered, and they seek revenge to someone in particular. though baiken right now is in her redemption arc unlike juri ( at least as far as i know ) funnily enough i main both these characters in their respective games lmao

Juri is a dark version of Chun-Li, just like Akuma is a dark version of Ryu. She's a "what if..." scenario so to speak, if Chun-Li didn't become a hero of justice after the tragedy that befall on her and her family. They have literally the same backstory. They both grew up in a happy family, they both learned martial arts from a young age and both of their fathers were good law officers who were murdered by Shadaloo/Bison. But while Chun-Li managed to stay on the path of "light", Juri got consumed by vengeance and fell to the darkness. That's why Chun-Li can't leave Juri alone. She understands her better than anyone and keeps trying to "save" her, and that's why Juri "hates" Chun-Li, because Chun-Li's a living, breathing example of what she could have been.

I hope im not the only one who fell down laughing realizing how the Juri OVA budget woulda been blown way ovwrboard of they had actually fully animated her super move every time she activates that Feng Shui engine instead of delivering THE MIGHTY ONE KICK lol
