Armwrestling Safety First rule of all contact sports - “Protect yourself at all times” KEEP YOUR EYE ON YOUR HAND 👋👀 AT ALL TIMES ⏳ Keeping your eye on your hand teaches proper form for maximum power, speed and safety. RED FLAG 🚩 SAFTEY WARNING ⚠️ When you see a player looking away from their hand that is a red flag 🚩 that player might be in a dangerous position. During an armwrestling match you must always be able to follow the action/movement of your hand with a “singular motion”. 🚩 Two movements to a correction EQUALS a break-arm position. You can do this with control of your spinal rotations. This is the world’s fastest sport, your position can never consist of “two movements “ to make a correction. 🚩If at any time you cannot follow your hand with a single motion, one adjustment - You are in an Arm-Break Position. *Demonstrate this to yourself by placing right elbow on table, hand at starting position. Now slide left foot back turning hips at 45 degree angle to table & look down at left foot. Now try without moving body attempt to touch your hand to losing pad. ⛔️ You cannot do it, you are now in a break-arm position, your humerus is at maximum rotation, limited by your shoulder position. Now you maintain safety providing rotation of humerus with spinal rotations. Demonstration- Assume starting position at table by yourself. Maintain hand/wrist/elbow in rigid fixed position. Maintain rigid arm and now using only spinal rotations( spinal movements) alternate touching hand to losing pad, then back to winning pad. You can move hand/arm by moving(rotating) your spine. Bend your knees, twist on your feet, rotate at hips, this is how you maintain a Singular Spinal Rotation to safety. Practice this demonstration 1- with hand in neutral start position 2- with hand completely in top-roll 3- with hand in completely in hook *Armwrestling is full contact requiring hands on instruction from a knowledgeable player before engaging in competition. 💪🌎💥

@george_K91 She has bigger biceps than me, but I do have a stronger forearm and wrist. Her technique looked alright to me. I guessed I reversed her because I hadn't given it my all yet. I had an extra gear. But I think her endurance is poorer than mine. She seemed stronger earlier in our practice. She can do muscle-ups and weighted pull-ups. She is impressive!
@george_K912 ай бұрын
@LeahRobb but she didn't even use the handle at her side to pull her body. But if she's is overall stronger than you and her techniquewas right, then how did you reverse her since she had you literally almost down? This is a point where someone can rarely escape against stronger opponents
@LeahRobb2 ай бұрын
@george_K91 Do you arm-wrestle? I am not aware that arm-wrestlers use the handle much to pull on. When you're standing up, you use your legs and the table edge more. Her forearm and probably also her wrist were not stronger than mine. That's why.
@george_K912 ай бұрын
@LeahRobb Yes, they do use the handle many times to pull their body to the winning side. Yeah, wrist and forearm, although useful, is not everything in armwrestling. Back muscles engage too. But I saw her also using her bodyweight at the point where she had you almost down. At this point she didn't know how to utilize her strength, it's where you reversed her due to your experience and training. If these gym people train themselves in armwrestling, then we're all doomed.
@george_K913 ай бұрын
He seems extremely strong and more muscular by a lot! Forearms huge, biceps also, experienced maybe, then where did your strength come from? you had also been training with each other just before that which means low energy in the muscles and during the fight your hand was many times away from your body! Can you please explain to me how did you hold him for 45 sec even without a proper table or techniques, just with raw strength?
@LeahRobb3 ай бұрын
@george_K91 Hehe. It is a mystery how I held him. I did get a higher grip, which meant more leverage. We actually trained separately, so I don't know what he did before we met. It was just a random dude who was curious about what I was training. The lack of space to manoeuvre in will have probably disadvantaged him more than me. Other than that. I was able to do a pull-up with +12kgs around then, so perhaps I was at a kind of peak, I don't know 🤷
@george_K913 ай бұрын
@@LeahRobb you had higher grip (although I don't know what it means in a practical way) but also you had your arm extended many times, which leads to restricted power and given the fact that he had hiw own close to his body and was really strong, he should theoretically have won easier at these opportunities. Once you mentioned it, at armwrestling without technique only strength matters, which comes from forearms, wrist resistance and, last but not least, rotator cuff which you have trained through your pull-ups hehe. This explains much! But although you have good biceps and strong forearms, is it enough to beat trained/sporty guys with bigger muscles and strength? of course there's mor eto armwrestling but this is the real mystery actually, I hope you have found an answer about it across the years :P

The reps to be counted you need to open your hand as far as it goes and then close it again, this will be 1 full rep. Exactly as we do with free weights in the gym! the rep must always be on full extension (according to one's hand size of course but this applies to all exercises with gripper) not just opening a little bit, because then you don't use the full movement capacity of your forearm muscles, therefore you're not tiring them enough ;) PS: at how many kg did you close the gripper using 2 fingers?!

@@george_K91 Fair dos. I will try to do some with hand extention. Issue is, my hand doesn't get round the gripper that well, so it slides out of place when I open wide. Will try though. Ps. My score for keeping the gripper closed is 1m41.
