Wow! I have to say these are my idea of what F1 cars should be. And the drivers at that race were and are legendary. So different from the races of today. Back then you could sit among the trees, have a picnic and watch this fantastic spectacle.

Does anybody remember the mobile hospital from this era? My parents and I moved to Hemingford Grey in Huntingdonshire in 1968, and parked on the main village road - close to the village policeman's house, was parked (between events) a double trailer articulated lorry that was the mobile ambulance.

The four wheel drifts are what is missing from today's "airplanes-on-wheels" racing. This racing, at half the speed of today's F1, is so much more exciting and interesting.

This is Formula One at its best! We all miss the screaming roar of those V12s! The cars were just beautiful back then. Today the sport has changed too much and I don't tune in anymore. I prefer to watch these vintage races of nostalgia and there are so many to watch and I never get tired of watching them. That was Formula One!

This is not vintage racing. It is what it was all about for ever like Rouen and Nurburgring. Real F1 finished at Adelaide in 1985. And as for the present US incarnation post Ecclestone and Mosley I do not acknowledge it and have not observed a single race it has nothing to do with F1 or GP. The only real motor races on earth are the Darlington Southern 500 and Baku F1 race. My politics Trump is a centrist Democrat his adoption of Obama care is unsustainable and Haley is a far left Democrat.

F1 these days is like watching paint dry. Huge wings and ground effect takes out all the excitement. The one who has the best "aero package" wins. BTW, the original film is probably awesome, unfortunately this video is badly crippled probably due to a dozen or so video conversions between different frame rates etc. It's making me nauseous.

You can really see the differance in driver input then compared with today basically the driver is in control and is controlling the cars movements today cornering speeds are such that the technology is to a large extent controlling the car and if it fails a big crash is un avoidable but with the huge run offs on most tracks this seldom results in driver injury with the cars built in crashability ,as i have said about other motor sports higher speed dozent result in better racing often the reverse with airflow and more aerodynamics playing a part.
@allenmurray78939 ай бұрын
The old tracks were so much better than those of today. Ditto the cars. As someone else said here everything is at the touch of a button.
