Yeah but unfortunately the way a lot of us wanted to build is the old way of warlock where your patron was available at level 1. If all we care about is the patron to be honest that’s actually a waste of levels.

"Each weapon has a mastery property, which is usable only by a character who has a feature, such as Weapon Mastery, that unlocks the property for the character." the wording says such as weapon mastery but I can't tell if it's saying that as an example of how to get it on ONE of the weapon masteries or if that applies to all?? also is proficiency the same as weapon mastery?

I moved from D&D5e to PF2 about a year ago, and I absolutely love it. The system mechanics allow for better storytelling: in 5e, a level 17 character has 4 more points of proficiency than a level 1 character. But in PF2, the level 17 likely has a proficiency of 25, without gear or feat bonuses: the characters MECHANICALLY get better, showing the real progress they gain for adventuring.

My druid was my favorite character in 5e. I'll say, for raw battlefield power and control, they're outclassed at first by other casters, but then a high level druid truly becomes a walking natural disaster.

Now hear me out, the alchemist jug can make you upwards of 96 gold per day, 4 oz of acid sells for 25 gold and a vial cost 1 gold. The jug makes 8 oz of acid and assuming you long rest during the day between encounters you can reinfuse the jug. 15:22

seems like everything just gets so much that no char will ever actually be ended. bad case of bein lazy and just giving too much of everything the most vocal people wanted.

I honestly hate the weapon juggling system. It looks clunky, and there's no question it's dumb. Just try to imagine someone doing that in real life. And since they still kept martial characters comparable to the physical limitations of real life humans, I have to assume they wanted them to be somewhat realistic. But here we are, desperately trying to squeeze a bit of damage out of our martials, seeing as we no longer have power attacks. The only good thing about this is that it finally gives me an excuse to build a grappler. In the old system a grappler wasn't good, because you couldn't use power attacks with one of your hands tied up. Now it seems that weapons in only one hand is the way to go with the new rules. Unfortunately, they won't let us choose the feats we need at first level, so we have to wait even longer for our builds to come online. Most of the origin feats suck, and none of them are vital to any of my build ideas. And all the advantage we get is going to feel almost meaningless without the ability to increase our damage when we have the opportunity. They need to make power attacks a core martial feature that doesn't require any specific weapon. That way, all the weapons stay balanced, and martials can still bring single target damage to the party. Masteries are a good idea, but we were better off with the old rule set. If they had left feats alone this game would have been fine.

I'm getting really excited to play my Order of the Lycan 7 / Echo Knight 3 build. I play in a once monthly game in which a group of knights, chosen at random from a roster, protect the realm. I can't wait to see how the speed, ferocity, and damage of the Order of the Lycan pairs with the Echo Knight and its mobility around the battlefield and additional damage potential. My previous Gunslinger was tempted by a magical contract that promised the thing he most wanted in the world. My gunslinger is now an NPC, hell-bent on finding his wife. I've left what her fate has been in my DMs hands, and am excited to watch it play out. The Bloodhunter / Fighter is the son of my Gunslinger and his missing wife. He was stolen from his home by powerful slavers and twisted into a Lycan by a cruel Archmage. Into his skin is twisted an arcane Leash that could be yanked tight on him at any moment. He's currently visiting the kingdom his father was a knight of, looking to trade information of powerful artifacts of creation for assistance in removing his arcane Leash. He has no knowledge that his father was a knight of the kingdom he is currently courting for a favor

As someone who's getting into DND and wants to use ranger. I kinda wish they went fully into HM if they were going to make it the core spell. Gloom stalker maybe giving the HMed creature get disadvantage on intimidation while Faye wanderer grants disadvantage on persuasion. Hunter gives a thing where you can choose willing creatures up to wisdom modifier who gain the DMG boost when you use HM (like a hunting party type thing). Beast master's animal going to attack the HMed creature by itself so the bonus action allows you to HM a creature and the animal companion will go to attack it automatically. Or something along those lines too give more motivation to use HM
