I remember the first time I saw Star Trek . It was parts 1 and 2 of " The Menagerie " I was more impressed with Star Trek than I was with Lost in Space . I was 8 years old when Star Trek began . It was during the latter Gemini missions . Every kid I knew wanted to be an astronaut and Star Trek really blew us away . I'm 66 now . And I was a big fan of the original and it's crew . Kirk , Spock , McCoy , Uhura , Sulu , Scotty , Chekov , Nurse Chappel , and I also remember Yeoman Rand . Back then the actual excitement of the US Space program and NASA with watching Star Trek was one of the best times of my childhood . But then , life happens . And dreams become just what they are , dreams . But since I'm an old man now , no wife , no kids . . I'm heading out to sea and live out the rest of my life on a sailboat cruising the Caribbean and the Antilles and Grenadines . . I can't go off - world , so I figure the ocean is the next best thing . To all of you Trekkers and Trekkies commenting here I say , " Live long , and prosper ."

I feel like it doesn't need to be slowed down because it's more fleshed out. Current tempo just slightly feels like a drag, setting it to 1.1 fixes it for me.

This is THE Star Trek theme. To me, this is just as iconic as the main theme to Star Wars. I really dont understand why they tried to do DS9, Voyager or Enterprise without some variant of this theme

I come back to this composition every now and then, how all the themes intertwine gets me every tume
