Where are these people? Why can’t I find them around myself? Now I am feeling that I am living around wrong people or in wrong era. Definitely some great acting here! I am sure most of the actors seem like coming from theatre acting schools. About the controversial kissing scene, i am quite polarised about this as a cinephile. I mean its totally fine to show reality thrugh cinema esp such arthouse cinema however i think moral repercussions should be weighed first. Punjab's social, moral and psychological culture regarding taboo subjects like sex and obscenity is far narrow and tight right now. We cant just normalise sexuality in a culture that is predominately religious in nature. Moreover, we should actually reflect whether its useful or needed in any sense to normalise such matters which are completely private affairs of humanity. Filmmakers might make it comfortable for Punjabis to accept their sexuality in more broad public way however in process we are more at loss than gaining anything useful out of it! Personally, i am mostly pessimistic about this concern in cinema! I dont want my neice or nephew to see this and gets confused about this with the actual highly repressed society. Which is my point, that, thats also reality of Punjab and actually the most real one. Punjabis need to make up their minds first about their sexual expression then we can able to move it in art. Right now its just hypocrisy. In artistic sense, the sexuality should be only show in a artwork if it holds a gravity of poetic justice to that art. Otherwise its just a another softcore porno like most of Bollywood and mainstream Hollywood stuff. My well wishes to filmmakers for creating a wonderful movie.
