Excellent performance! Bravo! Metz is a great Hauptwerk sample set. Do you have the extended version? It will make the organ, especially pedal, more hefty and powerful. It is worth looking into if you don’t have it.

Try taking notice of slurs in the music. They often indicate a melodic phrase that needs to be connected... You have the ability! I hope you play real organs sometimes. Hauptwerk is not real, as you know...

Thanks for your comment. I actually revised my fingerings in order to play more fluently and to elaborate the melodic phrases, especially when pedal and manual are having some sort of dialogue. Seems like you´re feeling different about it - sorry to hear that. Sure, I have played and still do play "real" organs sometimes. I´m working in the digital sector and I have also built this digital organ with my dad - so yes, I do know that Hauptwerk is not real ;-). But let´s be honest, it makes the instrument so much more accessible for many musicians that otherwise wouldn´t have access to and I´m grateful to be have one at home. Hauptwerk shouldn´t replace real organs, but brings so many different possibilties, especially for practice and recording aspects. Kind regards from Regensburg, Germany.

Nice playing! I also really like your setup - it's so clean! Could you please briefly explain how you did it? I guess the cables run through the black pillar, but how does the organ hold without legs? Is it sitting on the pillar and/or mounted at the wall?

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like my playing. You're right. The cables run through the pillar/organ stand euch itself has U shaped "feet" hidden underneath the pedalboard. :)

Hallo Deniz, die Orgel ist selbst designed und gebaut, daher haben wir mehr oder weniger fast alle Bauteile separat gekauft. Die Schwellerpedale sind Doepfer FP 5 (z.B. bei Thomann erhältlich). Viele Grüße, Florian

Ich selbst hab damit beim Spielen keine Probleme, ist aber sicher gewöhnungsbedürftig. Dann kommt für Sie wohl nur ein feststehender Spieltisch in Frage. Ziel dieser Konstruktion war es allerdings, dass die Orgel transportabel und mobil ist (sie passt auseinandergebaut komplett in mein Auto).

Haha I know exactly what you mean. 😂 Those augmented 5th chords that get resolved in right and left hand differently drove me nuts 🤯, but once figured out, it all makes sense and you just go with the flow 😁

It´s that time of the year with Christmas being over, some days of the old year left, the new year yet to come. I´m using these days for relaxing, reading, meeting friends and - of course - playing the organ. . Some weeks ago I came across this magnificent toccata by Denis Bédard, a brillant contemporary organist and composer from Québec/Canada. His toccata is based on the French traditional carol "Il est né, le divin Enfant" / "He is born, the divine Child" - a traditional French Christmas carol from the the 19th century. And honestly - that melody is such a joyful and catchy tune, I can´t stop humming with it, even when playing the organ. And then those harmonies by Bédard - it´s a masterpiece! . Vor einigen Wochen habe ich diese herrliche Toccata von Denis Bédard entdeckt, einem brillianten zeitgenössischen Organisten und Komponisten aus Québec/Kanada. Seine Toccata basiert auf dem französischen traditionellen Weihnachtslied "Il est né, le divin Enfant" / "Es ist geboren, das göttliche Kind" aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Ganz ehrlich - die Melodie ist wie ein Ohrwurm, sodass ich sie selbst beim Orgelspielen mitsumme. Und dann diese Harmonien von Bédard - ein Meisterstück! .
