This is very cool. I am planning a B 24 build for 2025 and want to do a similar set up. I’m doing a corsair build with a working prop in lights right now. But where do you get the circuitry for the slow start up and I think in another video I saw you have sound? Do you make it yourself or do you buy from someplace?
@BearstowsBarnstormers21 күн бұрын
Your Corsair sounds really cool. I have a couple of videos on how I set up the B-17. It's all programmed into an Arduino that was set up with the slow startup. I have videos on the circuitry used and I have a link to a reddit post with my code. If you have any additional questions feel free to drop a comment after you've taken a look at those videos!

I remember both days well, flew on 909 in 2014 and was supposed to go again as I live near BDL where it went down on Oct 02, 2019. Watched TR go down on video. RIP to all 13 souls.

@BearstowsBarnstormersАй бұрын
It was a super neat thing to notice as I let the engines run. I didn't expect to be able to capture the phenomenon in the model so it was pleasantly surprising. Unfortunately the propellers don't make much sound so you can't hear the beats off of it.

@BearstowsBarnstormersАй бұрын
@@sebastianfletcher-taylor1024 Maybe? Propellers make most of their noise through the tips going supersonic which I'm very far away from but perhaps there is something there? One day I'll have to do a test!
@sebastianfletcher-taylor1024Ай бұрын
I would love to see such a test! It seems to me that since there is a clear harmonic that you pointed out between the frequencies that we can see visually, there should be some acoustic harmonic even if it's too small for us to detect. Texas Raiders would visit the Father's day airshows in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Home of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Was on board in 1982 and bought a 1/48 Monogram B-17G with a picture holding the model with TR behind me. Forty years later returned to the hobby and finished the model in bare metal despite having bought '909' B-17G decals shortly after buying the model in 82. It was within a few months completing the model that 909 crashed. The other B-17s that visited, Aluminum Overcast, Fuddy Duddy and Sentimental Journey. Waiting for the 1/35 Border Models B-17G to see if it is worth building. Examples of my models are on my channel. I have subscribed.

I really want to get up to that museum to see their Lancaster. I built 909 back in 2017 not long before her crash. TR will be going next to 909 at my office once I get the antenna wire in to finish her. Sentimental Journey flew over me a couple of months ago on my way up to Philadelphia to see the USS NJ in dry dock. It was a very cool experience! Thank you for the subscribe!

My mom and her family lived in London, England during the blitz and later moved to a safer location. She likes seeing the Lancaster and we have plans to take her to the museum soon. Always wanted to go to Dayton Ohio to see the B-36 and the last to be decommissioned Skyraider. Love to visit the New Jersey and the Elco PT boat if it is still there. HK models 1/32 scale B-17 G late production has the offset waist gunner position and Cheyenne tail turret. I chose to do CAF B-17 "Sentimental Journey". I troubled with doing the current modern interior which included diamond plate floor in the radio operators compartment or wartime production. In the end i couldn't resist the natural wood floors and interior of the original war time B-17. Thanks for the video.
@BearstowsBarnstormers4 ай бұрын
It would have been much easier to just build the 1/32 instead of modifying the 1/48 but the shear size! I'm already stuck trying to figure out how to record painting it. The wooden floors really are a treat! Thank you for your comment!

Is there a reason why you didn't deal with the injection marks?
@BearstowsBarnstormers4 ай бұрын
I dealt with most of the injector sites that are visible from the outside of the aircraft. The B-17 is a bit of an odd duck build in my opinion as there is room for a lot of interior detail but almost none of it is visible from the outside of the aircraft. This kit also has a lot of injector points so I wouldn't be surprised if I made a mistake and missed a couple somewhere.
