Hey Jared, some real bushwhacking and storm dodging involved in fishing that tight creek! Sweet browns out of there. You did a great job navigating the snags and canopy. That might have even been Tanuki 275 water. Nice work!

Ahhh, the famous mushroom rock! I guess I'd revisit that spot frequently too if I knew I'd catch a donkey brown like you always seem to find there. What a great, productive creek! Thanks Jared! BTW, what's up with that barbed wire fence across the water? I thought the streams and their beds were public property in Wisconsin. (Maybe it's just there to keep the livestock from wandering and not to discourage anglers.)

Your fishing is impressive and the WI driftless area is beautiful. I just spent two days Tenkara fishing the streams near Viroqua and it was two of the most difficult days of fishing I've had in many years. Maybe it was recent storms, hot weather, or fishing pressure, but nothing seemed to work. Tried a dozen different flies, multiple presentation techniques, locations on streams, & times of the day, but landed only 3 fish with the largest being just shy of 8". I like your videos, but I'd like to hear more about you're techniques or strategies while Tenkara fishing, so those of us who have a long drive can be more successful on these WI streams.
@tenkaragenki22 күн бұрын
Thanks for the compliment @mpThand10 ! I’m glad you didn’t get skunked at least! Sounds like tough conditions. Were the streams blown out?! We had a ton of rain last month and again this month is starting out rainy too. :/ You will definitely like the next video then if you want to hear tactics while on stream! Thanks for the comment and for watching! And thanks for the feedback!

Apparently it’s a thing in Europe that catch and release is considered torture, I explained to someone recently that yes, fish are so tortured that they will calmly sit there and regard you with curiosity, and maybe even follow you around. Nice fish. My favorite.

@zekeking8539Ай бұрын
it's more using the rod and line itself to pull/guide it in to be netted

Yes. Basically. Set the hook, play the trout a lil bit, hold the tenkara rod up and back past the back of your head. The fish should then come towards you.
