If you're using the tatcha rice wash powder (the white one), it might be too harsh for your skin. It caused me to have a similar skin reaction. I switched to the purple rice wash powder, and it works great.

I troubled with my shoulder bad bad for the last few years. A professional told me it was due to neck strains and recommended to sleep without pillows, instead use a rolled towel. Your pointing to your traps so its prob your neck. So now i do not sleep with a pillow. Also add in some stretches that at first feel painful till i got full mobility 😊 hope this helps
