I remember playing this song in jazz ensemble my senior year. We were at ABAC for a competition. We screwed up towards the middle or end -- ALL OF US! In the exact same place at the exact same time! Even though we miraculously got back on track, we knew we were gonna get back on the bus. Luckily, we won some awards including most outstanding trumpet section. Perfect way to end the season and year. 😉

Wasatch High School from Heber City, Utah came in first place with this song in 1982 in a national competition at Chaffey College in Alta Loma Co. California. The bass player is really good in this clip, but I wish I could hear him better. Great job!!!

It seems impossible that a town with such a small population could produce a full Jazz Band of such a great standard. But there it is - so you must believe it.

Well I have a good friend in Finland that shared this with me. Videosbyme. I have friends all over the world, and I love to hear great music like this sung in their native tongue. Music is the universal language and brings great peace and harmony to me.

I haven't seen him perform in person since 1987 when he was still with Pro Fide so this is a real treat!! Thank you rumpari and KZbin!!

There are a few timing issues, mainly at measures 61 and 65. But other than that, a very good job.

cool i played this song last year in my high school jazz band i played 3rd trumpet as a freshmen this year i got moved to 1st/2nd trumpet ive been cranking out high G's :D last year i barely hit the E's remember trick to hitting high notes on the trumpet is to play lots of low notes GOOD LUCK !
